About
The year is 2150. You’ve successfully landed a job working for one of the many mining facilities stationed in the asteroid belt between Jupiter and Mars. Using a company issued Asteroid Hauler, your job is to search for mineral rich asteroids and tow them back to the primary mining facility for further processing.
Pre-fitted or built from scratch the control layout, types and operations are assembled using a fully player modifiable node based system of simple single function components. Don’t like the position of a control? Move it, change it or remove it. This is your ship so it’s your choice!
All components can be connected using red cables which simulate power distribution and green cables which simulate data flow from user input and various sensors. Using the modules and data systems you can wire the ship how you want it. Want to fly with proximity sensors only? Wire it up and off you go… but good luck!!
Use the controls you built and wired or a pre-fitted ship to haul asteroids and complete contracts or just have some fun flying about in space dodging rocks.
Be warned, this trivial sounding job will push you to your creative engineering limits. The asteroid belt is extremely dangerous, radiation and cosmic rays will continuously degrade the components of your ship. Over the course of your employment you will need to become intimately familiar with how all ship systems operate and fit together so that you can rearrange, rewire and reprogram them as they fail around you. You’ll need to get creative to survive and get your payload back to the primary mining facility.

[strike]Game is VERY buggy. Would not recommend buying it. TLDR: Had to restart 3 times while building because of bugs and objects would disappear and equipment gets soft locked. Mechanics could be good if bugs are fixed.[/strike] Edit: It appears the devs are very active! some bugs i have mentioned on here have already been fixed! I will play the game again as any bugs i find will likely be patched very quickly! OG Comment: Spent 1 and a half hours trying to make the ship the way i wanted it and things just kept vanishing for no reason. Anytime i press the menu button on my quest 3 controller it would make the whole ship turn transparent and it wouldnt revert when pressing the button again. Only way to fix it is by restarting... [strike]At one point i tried to put a carbon disc into the o2 gen and it just disappeared and wouldnt let me put a new one in. (I think i put it in the inventory at the same time.) Also if you leave a room when you have items floating they WILL be DELETED. (Not fun when they cost money)[/strike] Fixed! Another bug is my right controller was unable to grab anything (Tablet, sliders, etc..) Only way to fix was by restarting. It sucks the building mechanics are so wonky because it COULD be very fun. Nice idea mid execution.
This game is bloody awesome, i can only hope it continues to develop and more content gets added! For anyone starting out that loves complex games here is some advice, do the starting tutorial, then back out and go straight into expert mode, wire up your own ship from scratch and everything will make incredibly more sense, if you get stuck you can always save and jump into the intermediary mode to double check how stuff is connected as standard.
you do indeed fetch rocks
After 20 hours in my career, I decided to update my review. It doesn't even look like im halfway to unlocking everything yet. It's a difficult game at first, but once it clicks, you only become more determined to get better. If you are into things like minecraft redstone, rust electricals, satisfactory, or are a computer or math nerd then you can do a lot in this game. There is a sandbox, academy, and circuit diagrams to help you along, and knowledgeable people in the discord. The developer has been quick to address bugs ive reported since the 1.0 launch, and release several patches. This game should get more love, it is so deep and unique. For every minute you spend out in space fetching asteroids, you spend ten tinkering with your circuits in the docking bay, trying to figure out how you can accomplish your goals with automation.
One of the best VR experiences I've ever had. Really cool concept well executed.
Fun, intuitive, makes you think
This game is probably one of my favorite games of all time
It's neat, and fun to figure out.
Works on Reverb G2. IFR is a futuristic work/engineering sim with unique spaceship customization system. There is nothing quite like it even outside VR. Every part of the ship is connected with data and power transfer cables to a various modules, that allow complete control over what information to display and where and how much power everything uses. Such microcontrol feels daunting at first, but it is incredibly rewarding, if you are willing to experiment and read in game manuals. The latter is implemented diegetically with datapad, that is really cool to use in VR, while piloting the spaceship. Interacting with all the switches, dials, etc. is also intuitive and satisfying, especially in the default room scale mode. On the drawback side of the game: there is a rare but very annoying gamebreaking bug, where spectrometer just stops working, and the only way to cure it is to load a previous save file. I've encountered this issue twice over 8 hours of gameplay. Multiplayer appears to be broken, but I haven't tested it much. Finally, the game visually looks pretty bad. But all of those drawbacks are not nearly enough to ruin such a unique and criminally underrated game.
I like this game for the most part, but the inventory position is horrible, You have to put your head into a very awkward position to be able to see and interact with it. As it stands this makes it very hard for me to play or enjoy this game
