Greetings Enforcer, and thank you for enlisting in the Hypnospace Patrol Department! As the corporatocracy sleeps, outlaws are out there committing terrible transgressions all across our beloved Hypnospace, and these virtual streets aren't going to police themselves!
Hypnospace Outlaw is a '90s internet simulator in which you scour Hypnospace's wide variety of weird and wonderful websites to hunt down wrongdoers, while also keeping an eye on your inbox, avoiding viruses and adware, and downloading a plethora of apps that may or may not be useful.
As part of your job as a Hypnospace Enforcer, you'll be watching out for copyright infringement, internet bullying and more, with reports and rewards coming direct from the Hypnospace Patrol Department to your inbox. In your spare time, you can customize your HypnOS desktop however you see fit, with a variety of downloads, wallpapers, screen savers and helper bots to keep you company.

Crawl through Cyberspace: Scour the darkest corners of the Web for scumbag users who violate Hypnospace law!

A great game with a surprisingly profound story and plenty of millenial nostalgia.
I have been playing videogames my whole life (since the mid 90s) and Hypnospace Outlaw is one of the best games I have ever played. It hits the nostalgia of the early internet perfectly. It is a deep, soulful story and is painstakingly crafted by talented people. When I think about this game for too long I start tearing up. Not even a specific moment (though there are many), but rather a top-down view of the project as a whole. It is purely art. It is a love letter. It is maddeningly beautiful. I could, and have, stared at it for hours. It fills me with an emotion that I have trouble defining. Something about this game has penetrated my soul in such a special way, I don't know if I will ever feel this passionate about a game again. Thank you, Jay. Thank you to the programmers that made the absolutely adorable tools. Thank you to everyone who had a hand or even a finger in this game. Thank you. Seriously. I love all of you.

I played this game over COVID-19 and still think about it and talk about it with my partner to this day. Genuinely one of the most unforgettable experiences I've ever had in a video game, the world building is incredibly unique and there's not a single game on the market quite like it. Fungus Scene 4ever!!!
Hypnospace Outlaw makes you feel like an online detective and isn't always easy. I really love the vaporwave art style and love looking through the random web pages; some can be very chaotic, which reminds me of the early internet days. The music ‘Chill It Right’ will always be playing in my head. I love this game so much that I have 100% this game on Steam and Xbox. If you want all the achievements, the last one to archive all web pages will take you at least a few hours. Use Debugging mode to help you find the remaining pages.
A bit late with the hype over the game. Still loved it! Didn't really get into the timeframe when the internet looked similar to how it's drawn out in Hypnospace Outlaw, so it's a "nostalgia from an unexperienced past" kind of thing that happens with me here. Good variety of soundtracks, and most of them are really good! Even some of the ones called out in the game plot as bad. [spoiler]The game even has its own lore about music genres.[/spoiler] xd Not that much sleuthing and hammering as I expected initially; the game is mainly literally about surfing and exploring proto internetz and connecting to characters, their interactions, and other different cheesy stuff. Just dive into the atmosphere of the digital half-baked dreamland (copyright trademark). Favorite quotes from the game: [h3]"YOU'll Never Be a PUNK."[/h3] [i] - some guy [/i] I'll write more quotes when I remember. P.S. Don't mind the insane amount of hours spent in a game; I'm just sort of schizo trying to do everything I understood that can be done (there is [i]some[/i]).
