One of the more interesting deckbuilders I have played, it's insane that as of now it has sub-100 reviews. Aesthetics and theming are on point. Hard and tactical gameplay, I have not played much yet, but it seems more based on positioning and proper utilization of resources rathen than chaining insane combos. It's very reminiscent of Card Quest, which is in my opinion one of the absolute best card-based games and also very underappreciated. I will be checking out more games from Sleeper Games, looks liek there's good stuff in there.
Hyperspace Deck Command is probably one of the best roguelite deckbuilders I've ever played. There's a lot that I like here, from the unique tactical combat, to the great sound design that lets you feel the impact of the interstellar cannon shells, high-tech beams, and groaning of ships as they take damage, to the wonderful music that adds so much to the chill mood the game gives space combat, to the ways every status effect has both buff and debuff, their myriad interactions between each other, and how that influences your decision making, to the way the dongle modifiers allow you to customize your ships and cards as well as make real nasty freaks that roll the opposition, to the amazing high-concept sci fi setting the game takes place in, filled with both heartwarming and silly ideas like Missile Heaven to the existential dread of the entire Gold Plague's existence and modus operandi. This game is honestly a massive hidden gem and just as equal to, if not more, Slay the Spire 2 in how much I've enjoyed it and adore it. The dev has worked extremely hard, and every new update and addition since I started playing the game has added new ways to expand your deck and arsenal. This game deserves a much larger number of eyes on it.
Really solid game, and I like its build variety and difficulty. Bunch of stuff to unlock. The highs are really high and the lows are still pretty fun.
100%'d the game, it's fun and unique. Waiting for the new updates, Sleeper.

Difficult and punishing. But it is a good thing. In sea of super easy rougelikes this one stands out. Cards, ships and factions are well designed. Definetly recommend!
Really, really good RLDB. The ships, debuff/buff effects, and combat layout all feel like thoughtful expansions on the systems in games like Wildfrost and Monster Train. On top of all the different factions and cross-faction unlocks, I think the chose-your challenge systems is also a really great addition (even if I just run at max challenge anyway...) Of course, all the H-Space games have impeccable vibes. But the sounds in this game??? Obscene!! Not only is the soundtrack incredible and tailored to each encounter and faction you fight, the mid combat soundscape is soo good its unreal! The way ships creak and groan when they take damage, or projectiles pop and whizz is just above and beyond what I would have ever hoped for. Also this game has Kill-Director in it.
Really like it! All the times I lose it feels pretty fair. Only thing for me is the color scheme is a bit much but I also still find a charm to it. Favorite build is low-tech antimatter stacking and adding scatter. I had a ship that could wipe out an entire row of non boss enemies. It died because I got careless. That is usually how my runs end. 63 hours in, still having fun! I can tell that this game has a lot more to offer still. More than worth the price tag. :P
good
TLDR: a fun and deep mix of FTL and Slay the Spire, with incredibly flexible mechanics and gameplay. This is a hidden gem, and worth your time. Even in a world where STS 1 AND 2 exist, this holds its own with unique, interesting, effective, and fun mechanics that build and function perfectly together in a ways that you almost don't expect until they hit you in the face. And the best part? The enemies play by the exact same rules you do. Your broken mechanics can be turned against you, and some fights are straight up unfair if you're not prepared. Better luck next time, don't shoot the minefield, or ANYTHING WITH RETALIATE. ahem. Be warned, the learning curve is steep but rewarding. There were many points along my journey already that I felt hopeless, or like a certain encounter was just impossible with the best tools I had found at that point. Thing was, I was always either using them wrong, misunderstanding the tactics, or skipping over the really good cards I had never tried before. Trust me, there are so many combinations you can really make anything work if you try (and also understand what all the buffs/debuffs do, it takes a minute). 9/10, Fun, intriguing, re-playable to the nines, will get blown up again o7.
