Never understood the musical craze of Guitar Hero, but I understand Hyperbeat. You move your little buddy around a circle to hit different types of buttons on screen. It has a synthwave soundtrack that you wanna dance to too. The varying difficulties ease you into a game that if you dare to play the hardest difficulty feels impossible to master, but that is a skill issue on me. You unlock cosmetics to change your look that is a way to encourage trying to perfect each song on each difficulty, that has millions of combinations possible with the vast array of color options as well. The style of this game is so unique and the story was kind of both wholesome and sad that could be a form of therapy if you want. You can ignore the story and only play the songs, but you will enjoy it half as much. The only issue you might have is the style of music is only electronic music that focuses on beat drops so don't expect playing normal songs, aka boring or slow songs. There are only 20 songs in the game. They have an editor to create your own, but the game is super niche and so don't expect alot of songs unless this game magically sells more. I loved Hyperbeat and they added multiplayer after I finished the game and would love to return. I've been playing the soundtrack for months after beating it which is a good sign for a music game. 10/10 better than Everhood 2

played for the vibes, it gave the feels. This game is more than just a rhythm game.
It is very much so a understatement to say I enjoyed HYPERBEAT. From the fluidity of the charts, to the wonderful cast of characters that you take your journey with, it all is just amazing. I opened it up expecting a fun rhythm game. Then I left with a new appreciation about my path through life. It is funny when it tries, and reassures you like a loving friend to do your best. Thank you to everyone who made this happen, your art is appreciated. I thoroughly enjoyed my journey.
This is an actual gem. Touching and beautiful. Love it
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love this game so much its like beatsaber but i dont have to put on the headset and it makes me much less sweaty. Still makes my arm hurt like hell, though. Probably better on controller, but I can't aim a joystick for ♥♥♥♥, so it's mouse or nothing for me...
I could not have stumbled upon a better rhythm game. Hyperbeat blends smooth gameplay with a interesting story that develops with each NPC you meet. 10/10, would recommend to anyone who enjoys rhythm games

Betraying its name, HYPERBEAT is rather... therapeutic? There is no better descriptor for a "flow state" than running through the circular charts of this game. The motions here work extremely well, and despite my frustrations in the beginning, began to love the pendulous controls. It's unique, can be played with just the mouse, and makes for a great coffee game. The dialogue, while almost entirely optional, rewards your time with new ways of self expression. There is no real voice acting here, just text-to-speech modulations between characters. I have to commend that over the use of AI, and I can't knock an indie game's voice acting quality down for that. It's grating, but deadpan and delivers some jokes punctually in an otherwise tranquil environment. Nobody there knows what they want to be, and all you can do is talk to them. Listen to them. I think that's reassuring enough. The multiplayer aspect is lackluster, and I wish we had more expressions, or interactions! Most encounters boiled down to waving, walking around one another in a circle, sometimes(?) changing out outfits, or sitting next to one another for approximately 0.02 seconds before heading off to another chart. For a game as chatty as this, It's a little disappointing we can't talk to one another. Overall, the multiplayer is a completely optional thing, and that's fine. I feel like I got my money's worth, it's cheap. and my time was respected. I hope to see more crossovers and custom charts come from the workshop. Hell, I really want to put Skate Story in this myself!
The gameplay is really fun, it feels great default note colours have awful contrast so change that in accessibility settings as soon as possible lol The characters are amazing and i love all of them
