Newer review: The development of this game has halted and been abandoned. It is an unfinished game. Yet, it's still listed as early access and being sold for $30. I didn't think such things were allowed on steam, but maybe the eye of Gaben hasn't caught up with this one yet. Your money would be better spent elsewhere. As far as I understand it, the dev team no longer exists and all profits go to the publisher, so you're basically throwing the money into the toilet or helping some executive at Arc Games buy their next yacht. No refunds have been issued as a result of the game ceasing development. As for the game itself - I thought it was a really nice game. Though not finished, I love the environments and stuff and the gameplay was fun. I am sad that it will never see its true potential. I do not recommend it on the basis of: It never left early access, is still being sold for $30 a copy, and the publishers don't appear to have any intention on finishing the development of this game, so it's a waste of money. Old review: Really cool game! I love the vibes. The art and atmosphere are top notch! The music really helps bring it to life too! Gameplay is fun.

игра норм но лагает если будет очень хорошая оптимизация я просто задротить в неё буду в целом норм
I finally paid the 29 bucks for an early access game and i loved it. I tried waiting for a sale but it never happened. 29.99 is nuts for early access BUT this game looked exciting. OH WELL- not even through early access its stopping development. NOW ITS ON SALE. Remove this from the store. Game had promise but bad business broke it and hurt the actual developers on this.

it's... got some potential. i love heart machine but as an avid hld fan i can't say i enjoy this game yet. the soul of hld seems to have been lost somewhere along the way and only the graphics and sounds reminding you of it exist here. i would love to say something more, but since the relase i'm literally unable to play the game as intended because of the crazy frame drops and lags. it's most definitely not the fault of my rog ally, since it can play AAA games on the highest settings. so please guys, for the love of god, work hard on optimizing the game because it was and still is a disaster to me. it hurts me to give a heart machine game a negative rating, but for now it has to stay. i'm looking forward to new updates and bug fixes tho!
Six months ago, I would be talking about how much I love the game and how it feels like a breath of fresh air from the other rogue-likes. The Buried Below update, however, ruined the game for me. Everything I love about this game has been either removed or ruined by Buried Below or an update after it. For instance, weapons are locked to specific characters, which ruins the load-out variety the game had at launch. The only character worth playing is the character who has the best weapons, which makes the concepts of “play styles” obsolete. Hyper Light Breaker is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ version of Risk of Rain 2 currently, and that deeply saddens me as a fan of both Risk of Rain and Hyper Light Drifter.
Play this in 2 years when it hopefully has added more depth to the combat, more interesting rogue like mechanics and generally better game feel. At current the game is incredibly overpriced for the quality of the experience your getting and runs become tedious/repetitive very quickly. Don't buy unless your absolutely desperate for a new action roguelike.
Very little content. Gameplay loop is unpolished and tedious. Development has been abandoned.
