There's good bones here. What's already available is limited but fun. If you're the kind of person that likes trying to optimize builds in rouge-likes, you'll enjoy this. The art direction is fantastic, the music is top notch, the feel is solid. Combat looks and sounds great, even if it is a bit limited. The meta-progression system is rewarding. It's pretty obvious that this could become something truly great. All that being said, it is fairly barebones for now and it is in an uncompleted state. There is limited content and there are bugs. Spend your money carefully. I didn't play the previous version, so I'm not angry that it was changed. Consider that however you want to.
You started run with friends insta, no tutorial, what are you gonna get? BAD connection, like really bad, 80-60 ping is never been this outrageous Your eyes gonna hurt Minimap is not readable This is first reaction, and it can't be worse imo

Really like the combat the art style and yes you can't abuse the Parry system now what I don't like about it game is way overpriced even on sale and very short for what we have now in Early Access in the time I've played I've upgraded two characters to the max finish upgrading the progression tree and beat the game about three times just left me wishing there was more to it which is a good thing so I hope they add a ton can't wait to see what more they add to this game
its cool! but a lot of the game decisions just seem so weird to me the game is super fast paced and almost always features combat with groups of enemies, yet the parry system seems to be pushed as the main strategy a player should use given how many items and perks use it, on top of it healing you the game is super fun when it's fast paced movement based action, I don't want to think about timing a parry when I can just dodge out of the way (this is just a personal preference but it just seems like a weird design choice) the game explains everything incredibly poorly, I have no idea what im collecting half the time and a lot of the shops, etc, just arent explained well at all (I unlocked multiple perks in the skill tree and didnt realise I had to "install" them until a few runs later, and I still dont know what the exe slot things are) the game has a cool world and a lot of good qualities, but the overall flow just feels like its being mishandled it's frustrating because the original hyper light drifter didnt need to explain much and you could just sort of intuitively figure it out, a lot of hyper light breaker I didn't even realise was a feature until it was pointed out to me idk, maybe it just isn't a game for me but on paper it seems like something I would love
Early Access game with 6 months of updates already. Devs are cooking. Rogue-ish type game with great gfx/art direction. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jVoLzeU0lc Steam Recommendations YouTube TikTok
Development ended in under a year.
you can already tell by the other reviews what happened. this is less a warning for you, and more a warning for me that is the second, and god help me last time i fall for the scam that is "early access." if you ever think that it'll be different, that your favoriate indie studio will actually pull through and deliver a complete product so its fine to hop on now while its WIP, no. no it isnt ok, no it isnt different. always, ALWAYS wait for full release.
