I picked this up after playing "Menace from the Deep" (it was recommended) and I was really pleased with the game. Addictive gameplay loop, cool cards and upgrades etc. I quite liked the variety of missions - gave me something to keep coming back to play. Characters were pretty decent if a little archetypal. I couldn't find fault with much of anything - except H.U.G.O. - H.U.G.O. is about as useful in battle as a marzipan sword.
I like that it feels like an adventure game, or a sort of linear "RPG", but with card-battler combat. You control one hero at a time, out of four, and each has totally unique abilities and perks. I really enjoyed the game. The difficulty : It is challenging, but accessible. All in all, I failed 7 missions: 1 early mission from bad luck, and I died about 6 times doing the last and hardest location. I needed to grind/upgrade my characters a bit (there are four characters), but I still had a hard time. I completed the game 100% with all characters. The last location felt sometimes dangerous and tricky, and I had to be cautious against the bosses, but it is not too difficult: enough though that you do feel happy when you succeed. __ Note that trying to get 100% achievements is doable, but it takes at least an extra 10+ hours of grind. I got 100%, but I cannot say I enjoyed that grind. :P Of course, most sane people will not try to get 100% achievements. __ NB: and, yes, I have played games like Slay the Spire ; though I am not great at it. PS: If you like the concept of RPG/adventure meets card-battler combat, you might like Deep Sky Derelict. It is really a scifi RPG and well done in my opinion (while Hunter's Moon is more of linear adventure).
Very poor game. Very boring, and very amateurish. Expected a lot, lot better.
Copies Menace from the Deep to such a degree that I was certain it's the same dev (it isn't). Though at the same time improves on almost every mechanic, so still highly recommend.
