This experience has a couple of very nice places you will cross. Apart from one single point of decision there is no interaction. While I think some of the places are stunning, I can't recommend this "game" as it is now. This would be ok as a "free to play" or one buck experience only. The struggle of the main character is not really explained or elaborated. He is just tired of his life and I could not understand why. The "story" did not convince me at all. There is the risk of going through the same experiences multiple time without the possibility to skip what you have already seen. Once you get out of that loop, the game is going back into loop mode after only one single scene. One point might be an issue of the Unity engine and not linked to the game at all: The VR space origin is calculated relatively to your head, not to the floor. This results in quite strange behavior if you move your head from side to side or bend your knees. The store description says "Mesmerizing VR Open World game with none but some minor bugs. Absolutely has potential. Graphics and sound effects are dazzling! ★★★★★". This could not be further away from an open world experience. Note: There was a game breaking bug about the one decision point, this was fixed very quickly after it was brough up in discussions...
Played on a HTC Vive, Not sure how to describe. Very deep thought and soul search is the feeling I got. When I first started the Journey, I must have been facing the wrong way on the dock, It did not start until I turned around and faced the lake and viewed the Title there. You need to be able to turn around 360 degrees so you will not miss anything. I am still thinking about how best to describe this Journey, The only words I can come up with now is Deep thoughts of looking inside yourself and searching for your place in Life. Over all, I enjoyed the Adventure.
Literally 10 minutes of gameplay. This is not worth 6$, it should be free and be more like a demo for VR and unity or something like that.
At some point it loops back to beginning lol. I tried twice and wasted almost an hour of my life. This is more of a VR high school project than a game.
Amazing atmosphere and beautiful scenery. It does not work on oculus rift but you can see try the game without a VR device.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift
This is a seated (swivel-chair recommended) 360 cinematic experience. There are really only two interactions. One of them is to start the darn experience. The other one is you're making a choice about your journey. Unfortunately, those interactions are very clunky as not only are they gaze-based + press a button on your motion controller type interaction, but it's difficult to tell that you'e making that choice because of the bad UI. I didn't even realize that I had started the experience or that I had made a choice. Yes, they are that bad. That's unfortunate, because this really isn't as bad as the negative reviews make the experience out to be. It's a short artistic, cinematic experience with good graphics. It has several beautiful scenes. The story is told through the main character's voice being narrated. The main character is struggling with depression. You get different scenes from his daily life and how his feelings of depression are over-powering and also some other scenes that show the possibilities of his journey. This is a short experience so the story is not fleshed out, but it doesn't matter because the point is this journey. We are told enough really. This could be any person dealing with depression. The "true ending" is kind of simplistic with a cheesy message, but hey, what were you expecting? I enjoyed the visuals and the experience. It's not for everyone. Think art-house type mini-film for VR. The game is running on the Unity Engine. Depending on your choice, the game can last 13-22 minutes. That's mostly because one choice leads to
going back to the start of your journey (a loop)
. The other is the good choice which leads to the good ending. The game did stutter at times on my 1060 GTX. However, I was still able to enjoy the experience. There's this one part that is a big 2D screen with stereoscopic 3D. Most of the 360 environments are somewhat static, as in you're just in one spot and looking around with some animations, like the water flowing. However, you do move around in other scenes, basically slowly flying through the air. One negative reviewer says this is a bunch of mobile 360 videos, that reviewer has no idea what they're talking about. I would go ahead and hit that ignore button on that reviewer since he can't tell the difference between the Unity Engine and mobile 360 videos. Rate 6/10. Definitely recommend for those who enjoy experimental VR experiences. I bought it for $1.99 USD during the current Steam sale and it's a good deal at that price. Not sure the normal $10 price is justified though.
A couple mobile 360 videos stitched together to force a narrative. The concept is sound but the quality is simply not up to the standard of a PC VR experience. And as someone else already mentioned, the game description is straight up scam.
Played it on The Oculus rift S, love the scenery and the deep thoughts behind this game, it is good to finaly have a game on VR that is for you find your freedom! what do you want in life? people wil think about life after this game! <3
This would be easy to recommend at this price if the images were making good use of VR. 360 video is not remotely impressive in 2020.
No he podido jugar realmente, es mega corto. Parecía interesante pero no. Yo no pagaría por esto, ni 1 céntimo. He intentado hacer directo pero vamos, que useless completamente. En resumen el juego es Basura.
