Housemates is the third work by Huli, in the title we will be called to play Kevin (name of player's choice) a college student who is forced to live with his landlady Nora and his roommate Ruth (both names of player's choice), without being able to leave the house due to a sudden epidemic caused by a sexual virus that is raging around the world. In any case, Mercer Robotics will provide citizens with rations and supplies with its drones so there is nothing to worry about, all that remains is to figure out how to pass the time while waiting for the crisis to end.
In the meantime we have a revelation, that is that our cohabitants are definitely hot MILFs (both 35 years old) on whom it would be worth spending much more than a little thought, but first we have to convince them to change their disposition towards us!
The gameplay is that of a sandbox visual novel in which the emphasis is placed on interactions rather than on the narrative.
We find ourselves in a rather small home environment together with our two companions, who will have their precise routines and will move accordingly depending on the time of day, while we will have to juggle with some statistics to improve in order to deepen our knowledge with the aforementioned roommates.
On the practical side, we will have to increase the ability to speech, which is used to convince the girls to open up more to us for various specific "social" activities, the touch ability, which is used to unlock the scenes when we "massage" the ladies more or less thoroughly during the day, the stealth ability, which is used to unlock the scenes when our companions are in bed at night or early in the morning, and the stamina which determines how long we can go on with our favorite "activities" before running out and which recharges by sleeping. In addition to this, both girls have a love and lust score to increase, the first by talking to them as long as there are things to say (remember that during lunch the dialogues are different and count separately), otherwise even copulating serves to increase its value, while the second, which is a bit random in my opinion, increases after sleeping especially if you haven't spent time with anyone in the previous days, in any case, if the first serves to continue the story, and to make the girls well-disposed towards us when we try to convince them, the second serves just to unlock the scenes when we wake up (which also make us lose the first hour of the morning).
Almost every action gives skill points, from talking every time the girls have something to say, to trying to convince them or touch them, even without succeeding, but, above all, that the sex scenes provide a quantity of points equal to the number of stamina points spent during the intercourse.
Also, in our room there is a computer where you can reread the tutorial elements, a bed where you can sleep, call the girls for threesomes, or change some things related to awakenings [spoiler], and two posters on the walls of the room, behind which you can make two gloryholes that overlook the adjacent girls' rooms...[spoiler] or maybe not[/spoiler][/spoiler].
Huli's simple graphic style remains decidedly captivating, especially when the animations come into play, especially if you consider that everything is hand-made frame by frame.
The soundtrack generally accompanies the story in an ineffable but pleasant way, while the scenes, although devoid of moans, are accompanied by appropriate themed noises.
As in the previous title, there is no image gallery here either, but all the scenes are repeatable at will once unlocked, but there is no function to save on Steam Cloud.
[spoiler]Personal note: for me, despite the two best scenes being Ruth's (anal at 03:00 PM and during the threesome), Nora is the best girl.[/spoiler]

Housemates è il terzo lavoro di Huli, nel titolo verremo chiamati ad interpretare Kevin (nome a scelta del giocatore) uno studente del college che si trova costretto a vivere con la padrona di casa Nora e la sua coinquilina Ruth (entrambe con nome a scelta del giocatore), senza poter uscire dall'abitazione a causa di un'improvvisa epidemia causata da un virus sessuale che imperversa per il mondo. Ad ogni modo, la Mercer Robotics fornirà ai cittadini razioni e rifornimenti con i suoi droni pertanto non c'è nulla da preoccuparsi, rimane solo da inventarsi come far passare il tempo in attesa che la crisi finisca.
Nel mentre abbiamo una rivelazione, ossia che le nostre coabitanti sono decisamente delle MILF gnocche (entrambe di 35 anni) sulle quali varrebbe la pena spendere ben più di un pensierino, ma prima bisogna convincerle a cambiare la loro disposizione nei nostri confronti!
Il gameplay è quello di una visual novel in stile sanbox nella quale l'enfasi è posta sulle interazioni piuttosto che sul comparto narrativo.
Ci troviamo in un ambiente casalingo piuttosto minuto insieme alle nostre due compagne, le quali avranno le loro routine precisa e si sposteranno di conseguenza a seconda dell'ora del giorno, mentre noi ci dovremo giostrare con alcune statistiche da migliorare al fine approfondire la nostra conoscenza con le suddette coinquiline.
A lato pratico avremo da incrementare l'abilità di dialogare (speech), che serve per convincere le ragazze ad aprirsi maggiormente a noi per varie attività "sociali" specifiche, l'abilità tattile (touch), che serve per sbloccare le scene quando "massaggiamo" più o meno approfonditamente le signore durante il giorno, l'abilità furtiva (stealth), che serve per sbloccare le scene quando le nostre compagne sono a letto di notte o alla mattina presto, e la stamina che determina per quanto possiamo andare avanti con le nostre "attività" preferite prima di restare a secco e che si ricarica dormendo. Oltre a ciò, entrambe le ragazze hanno un punteggio di amore (love) e lussuria (lust) da incrementare, il primo parlando con loro fintanto che ci sono cose da dire (si ricordi che durante il pranzo i dialoghi sono differenti e contano a parte), altrimenti anche copulare serve ad aumentarne il valore, mentre il secondo, che va un po' a caso secondo me, cresce dopo aver dormito soprattutto se non ci si è intrattenuti con nessuna nei giorni precedenti, ad ogni modo, se il primo serve a far proseguire la storia, e a rendere bendisposte le pulzelle nei nostri confronti quando cerchiamo di convincerle, il secondo serve giusto per sbloccare le scene al nostro risveglio (che ci fanno perdere anche la prima ora del mattino).
Ogni azione da punti abilità riuscita, dal parlare ogni volta che le ragazze hanno qualcosa da dire, al cercare di convincerle o toccarle, pure senza riuscirci, ma, soprattutto, che le scene di sesso forniscono un quantitativo di punti pari al numero di punti stamina spesi durante il rapporto.
Inoltre, in camera nostra sono presenti il computer nel quale si possono rileggere gli elementi del tutorial, il letto nel quale dormire, chiamare le ragazze per i threesome, o modificare alcune cose relative ai risvegli[spoiler], e due poster sulle pareti della stanza, dietro ai quali si potranno fare i buchi per le due gloryhole che danno sulle adiacenti camere delle ragazze...[spoiler] o forse no[/spoiler][/spoiler].
Lo stile grafico semplice di Huli rimane decisamente accattivante, soprattutto quando entrano in gioco che le animazioni, soprattutto se si considera che il tutto è fatto a mano frame per frame.
La colonna sonora in genere accompagna la vicenda in modo ineffabile, ma piacevole, mentre le scene, seppur prive di gemiti, sono accompagnati da azzeccati rumori a tema.
Come nel titolo precedente, anche qui non è presente una galleria delle immagini, però tutte le scene sono ripetibili a piacimento una volta sbloccate, non c'è però la funzione di salvataggio su Steam Cloud.
