If you're a Hot Wheels fan, Unleashed 2 Turbocharged would satisfy you with the game. It's very fun, handling is arcadey and the races are awesome. The performance of the PC is buttery smooth considering it's running on Unreal Engine 4 and Milestone as an Italian developer really cooked so hard with handling the notorious engine because it's perceived very negatively for its massive stuttering and optimization issues in modern games on modern PCs/consoles. You can tell that Milestone really do care about making very good or decent racing games, albeit with their questionable choices in business point-of-view, and this was my 2nd Hot Wheels game I've ever played next to Hot Wheels Ultimate Racing on PSP exclusive and also my 2nd ever racing game from Milestone S.r.l after Screamer 2026. Also the lootbox elements from Unleashed 1 are non-existence but the spinwheel would not guarantee you a car at all, and its DLC were not as predatory as before although you don't have to buy it at all. The car balancing still some refinement but the AI rubberbanding is fair imo, even on Hard difficulty which is good for me for carving some challenging and thrilling races. As much as I am enjoying Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 as Screamer 2026, ehh I still recommend it to get it on sale with all DLCs as Milestone tends to overprice their games at $50-$60 base price and $70-$80 for deluxe/ultimate editions. $50 full-price might not be worth it to you if you have played most of Hot Wheels games. Looking forward for the upcoming Hot Wheels Infinite Rush and I wanna see what Michelle Caletti have been cooking with the game after Screamer 2026 which is my personal racing GOTY of 2026.
You get forced to do drift races, ugly.
This is a neutral review, I just picked "not recommended" due to a technical issue setting me off. Game isn't difficult at all, while you can bump up the difficulty, you barely have any reason to do so and high difficulty races are more luck than skill. Graphically, it looks good. That's it. Story isn't there, just a bunch of cutscenes ending with a cheesy sitcom-esque laugh. As for the technical problem, you can very easily get a DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG if you try to play a YouTube video during a race. It's very annoying and it even caused my graphics driver to restart, which is something no other game did. Also, before anyone calls me a low attention span ♥♥♥♥♥♥, I only did it to replace the music with something more fitting. The reason I'm giving this a neutral review though, is because it feels like I'm too old for this game. If you're 15 and under, you will most likely enjoy this. You will also enjoy this if you're new to racing games in general. Side note: game uses EAC as an anti-cheat for a dead multiplayer and EOS for its online services
I genuinely enjoyed my time with Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged, particularly when playing the main story mode. The campaign is incredibly engaging and captures the fast paced joy of arcade racing perfectly. It is an absolute blast to play through the core content, and the base game really delivers on providing a fun and energetic experience. However, the gameplay does start to feel kind of repetitive after a while, and this issue is most obvious in the paid content. Almost all of the DLC maps felt rushed and honestly a bit half assed. There were multiple instances where I ended up playing the exact same map twice with the exact same game mode, with absolutely zero differences. On top of that, the completion goals for these tracks were set so low that it was practically impossible not to finish them without even trying. For paid content, the developers really need to be more aware of what they are putting out there. I really hope they go back to fix these specific map issues and focus on producing much higher quality content for future DLCs. Despite those frustrations, the core game is still highly entertaining and definitely worth playing for the campaign alone.
Wanted to get all the achievements in this game to add it to the collection of Hot Wheels games I 100%'d. Turns out doing that involves a lot of, what I can only describe as, slow, grindy gambling. Plus, games like Velocity X were just more fun in basically every way. Go play Velocity X or Stunt Track Challenge instead
One of the most fun games out there, especially on multiplayer.
PLATINA + SPOTIFY = BANGER 2
pretty fun if you like hot wheels xD
Eh de admitir que al inicio no me gustó... Tanto así que lo reembolsé. Sin embargo le dí una segunda oportunidad, eh incluso me quejé de cosas que, ahora, me parecen ridículas. Me encantó. ¿Recomendado? Absoluto. Es muy divertido. Lo único malo podría decir yo, es que odio el modo de capturar banderas, ya que es muy difícil.
It's a fun time, and the drifting is really good when you get use to it. Fills the void of a Mario kart game for sure.
