About
Horripilant is a chilling incremental dungeon crawl through the horrors of a forgotten underworld. Combining idler, puzzle and autobattler elements, you'll fight, mine, and think your way through the depths of a forsaken dungeon. With each step you'll grow stronger, but beware; every boon has its burden.
You awaken. An old, battered knight, lost in the darkest corners of an abandoned dungeon, with no memory of how you got there. The stench of decay permeates the thick air. The walls seem to whisper your name.
A strange tree catches your eye. Barely a sprout, growing in defiance of the dark. The voice demands you hit it. A twig breaks off onto the ground. The first of many.
Distorted moans echo from an empty staircase. Beckoning you. You must go down. It is your purpose...
Encounter bizarre characters, solve cryptic puzzles, and survive the horrors that lurk in every shadow. Will you escape this living nightmare, or will it consume you?

Incrementally gain and collect materials.
Combat horrific foes over 1000 floors in the dungeon.
Solve puzzles and explore the depths of your camp.
Upgrade your gear to venture deeper.
Meet God
Become worthy
Repeat, adapt, and survive. The depths need you, and you, them.

Way, way too grindy for an incremental. Automating the beginning portion after rebirths should be earlier in the skill tree. Having to juggle between Material and Equipment screen constantly to upgrade gear is insanely tedious and just very bad UI design. Combat is incredibly unengaging and boring. And the final boss requires running -1000- levels straight in a single run. Material grinding is the least interesting and unrewarding activity I've seen in an incremental in a long time. There's just so many problems with the fundamental design of the game, I cannot be bothered to write more (e.g. the obnoxious back and forth for the puzzles, lack of QoL like being able to have the pattern notes up at the same time when inputting them, the slow progression system, etc). It's a shame, because the concept and aesthetic of the game is really quite interesting. But, unfortunately, the game design is just so, so off the mark.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This game has a great vibe. The problem is how terrible the "idle" element is. There needs to be some presets involved with the dungeon... like "defensive" or "healing" or "offensive" automatic options because it's anything BUT idle. In order to manage it successfully I either have to leave the game running on it's own WAAAAY too long, or I have to NOT set it to automatic boons. There should be preconditions for automatically leaving the dungeon early or "once-game-reaches-certain-level-then-boon-automatic-selection-turns-off". I have put up with this nonsense and BILLIONS??????? to TRILLIONS in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MEAT. This game would be fine as a casual idler but it absolutely sucks as an idler. I hate it. The only thing that keeps me going is the vibe. Except the vibe only exists when I open somewhere new. I guess there probably isn't enough of a game to even fill the slot of two hours so the devs, instead of making a good game with fun (ANYTHING really), are using the cheesiest of exploits to force people to dump hours and hours and hours into their game. The idle element needs to be toned way the ♥♥♥♥ down. Or replaced with a cool card battler or literally ANYTHING ELSE!
Ok, I wish that I could give this a neutral instead of a yes or a no, but here is the pros and cons for me. Pros: - Horror elements + worldbuilding I really enjoyed pretty immersive - The art style is so unique and makes the game imo - The puzzles were very fun and gave a bit of a break to the monotony - Good that this game has offline material production Cons: -For an autoclicker, this game is TOO grindy, I upgrade until I cant anymore, leave and go do something else outside of the game, come back to do it over again. - an incredibly hands off experience, can literally go on my phone while playing -the incremental gameplay made this game one note, with almost no replayability. Overall, if you have a job or other responsibilities outside of being on your computer, I would recommend. If you want a more involved experience where your actually looking at the computer screen? I would look somewhere else.
A méditer.
Vous avez aimé cette analyse ? (REVIEW IN CONSTUCTION) +Amazing graphical art. +Creepy randomness is always thrilling. +Dark fantasy storyline. +Cool & interesting puzzles. -Insufferably grinding, completely disrespecting the player's time spending a half a day clicking just to progress to the next part. Boring and tedious clicking. Ruined the game for me. Because of this, i absolutely wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Disappointed, was extremely excited to buy & play this game, only to be met with a game of filler clicking loop that is dreadfully boring. This game is wasted potential to amazing graphical design and awesome random creepiness met with a boring clicker game feature. I would reccomend to the developer to redevelop the game making it more fun to play by removing or improving the idel clicker part.
