Oof, this is a bit of a mess. I was watching this game for a while because I love space games and survival games. But I knew as soon as I loaded in I wasn't going to be playing long. The first issue I had was items falling out of my inventory... things like WATER and FOOD. With no way to get these early game yet, I had to restart.... twice... when it continued to happen I just gave up. I ran into a LOT of invisible walls. When I tried to continue to see how far I would get, I could not figure out how to get to the FIRST LOCATION when you put batteries in your vehicle. Which is super slow and any rock or hill you bump into will send your car flying. There's a lot of old bases scattered that I ran into on my never ending trip that I couldnt enter because the building was floating and I rant into invisible walls. Also, the first base I ran upon sent my car flying for some reason lol I can go on but even though it was a pain, it was really funny. At the moment, no obviously I dont recommend. Let them cook a bit and get out of EA if they ever do.
working a lot better got a email from the devs in one day next day they fix the issue pretty fun game a must have
dont park your rover on a hill sideways my camera is stuck tilted to the right and after the update i can no longer build the radar you need for the main mission -_-
Material sammeln, keine Problem. Forschen, Nicht mal ansatzweise etwas erklärt...also einfach blind was machen. Neeee Leute.... Ein klares - Nein danke.
I really wanted to be able to leave a positive review here, but unfortunately, I cannot. I'll start off by saying that it has improved since the playtest, but that's not exactly a high bar, and a few fundamental issues still exist. Movement is frankly, awful, with view bob being unable to be turned off and jumping having this really weird pause at the top making it feel really odd to move around, and entering the first Hub a challenge purely because of the jump needed to get up to the door. True to the usual form of Early Access Open World Survival games, the default sensitivity was insanely high (like, we're talking move the mouse 1mm and do a 1080° spin) and the awful music is set to max volume (a setting that is completely ignored in the New Game flow). Visually, it's okay, although the framerate is default locked to 30fps, and it shows, even in menus. The lack of hardware mouse support leads to laggy and imprecise mouse movements. Increasing the framerate does clear this up somewhat. Even at the default High setting, I was not able to break about 75fps, on my fairly decent machine (specs included). Setting it to Ultra gives very little improvement in terms of fidelity, but tanks framerates to sub 20. Building. The structure ghosts are far too bright to be able to properly see details when placing, leading to workbenches being placed backwards etc. The tutorial also makes no mention of the fact that you need to place a door, separately, from the outside, after snapping a room to a corridor. Snapped and built the room from in the corridor? Guess what, you're now traipsing outside to be able to place the door between that corridor and the room. Mind boggling design choice. And then we get to the 6-wheeled elephant in the room. The Rover. You thought the Mako from Mass Effect was bad? I can tell you that thing handles like a F1 car on glue compared to this monstrosity. The ONLY animations on it are the wheels spinning, the front wheels turning and the doors opening and closing. The suspension is apparently cosmetic only. It has a turning circle measured at a galactic scale, and despite clearly having 4-wheel steering installed, only steers with the front wheels, and seems to suffer from more understeer than a new driver trying to navigate a country dirt road. The physics around the thing are bizarre, too. Plugging in the battery that the tutorial tells you to launched mine nearly into orbit, trying to stop on a slight downhill caused it to roll over its nose onto its roof despite having brakes that are seemingly made of Teflon. All in all, it needed at least another year in the oven before being put out into early access, even at the $13 price tag. It's a shame, the developers seem to be open to criticism, but in its current state, and the fact that this is at least the second development team the game has had, and seems to have been rebuilt from the ground up at least once, I'd steer WELL clear of this.
Giving a thumbs up due to the constant updates, feedback and communication. Its not perfect but the developers are actively working to make it so.
Is this game an early access? Yes. Are there a lot of bugs in the game, oh yes at the time of this writing. If you do not wish to be a Gameplay Tester then avoid this title for now. Otherwise...... This game plays like similarly to other base builder colony games in this genre. Drive around but with friends and build a base. I have not got into the terraforming aspect yet so cant speak to that but so far my impressions are hopeful.
Barly played it.. waiting to it work better.. but i give it a tumb up for now
