Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 26 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

A fantastic prequel. Even though the setting is not in space, it still fits perfectly into the Homeworld universe. The story is epic, and the art direction is also good. As for the gameplay, I found that each unit in the game served a purpose at one point or another. When I built my army and balanced it the way I wanted there was a sense of cohesion to it. Nothing in the game felt out of place. They really hit the mark with this one. Which begs the question: Deserts of Kharak and Homeworld 3 were made by the same studio, how did they manage to fumble the ball with Homeworld 3? It's a question that will remain forever unanswered.
Great atmosphere and storytelling in the campaign! Props to the devs who got me a steam-key after my Epic games version stopped working. Great support for a decade-old RTS!

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

the game controls are too hard to adapt to
Legit can't play without an internet connection. Not even campaign with the new Epic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
Get it on sale, it's frequently $5. But it's incredible game that I wish there was more content to. I haven't found something that quite scratches the same itch. In a lot of ways, I love it even more than Homeworld 1 + 2.
Difficult for a human being. However, bear in mind that the last human in South Korea fell down a liftshaft and his or her or otherwise wheelchair fell on top of them, crushing their neck and brain until the lift descended upon them, after repeatedly ramming the door of the elevator shaft some decade(s) ago. I surmise that they discovered that the only way to win at war games is to be a computer, or linked in with a computational system. A reminder that the mothership will be vertical in the original game. Can anyone get sphere formation to move in the remastered engine and simultaneously protect themselves, target enemy ships, and escort the ambassador ships? I'm told the probe engines face backwards. This may be a server registration thing from the 1990's Tango Sierra. Homeworld Online is available on mobile cell phone networks. HO; hydrogen monoxide, isotope detected? Barking Dog Cataclysm Emergence. Mayan Prophecy fulfilled. Continuing mission. Kiith Somtaaw mining vessel not found. Homeworld 3 incomplete. Homeworld 2 incomplete. Homeworld strategy guide on order. Does this message stay public?
The controls on this game suck and cannot be remapped. Not what I'm used to from an RTS.
A middling game made worse by publisher decisions.
Decent game, especially for people like me who have not played a RTS in a long time. The missions are quite focused/directed, as you are guiding the carrier (mobile base) along it's path in each mission. There are not that many units/types of units to manage, so you can really focus on each thing as it comes along. I played it on normal difficulty which ended up being quite easy. Only had a couple of missions where I was tested a bit. For most missions I could simple turtle and build up my forces/lure enemies into destructive ambushes. Long range airstrikes/artillery also is quite overpowered which adds to that. I personally would recommend most people play it on classic, as I think you'll get more out of the experience. Not having played a Homeworld game before, I quite enjoyed the story. I understand it is essentially a prequel that'll help my enjoyment of the original space faring games when I get to them. It is quite a simple tale, but worthy due to its worldbuilding aspects. The visuals are fine. Dated in some regards but nothing holding back on the enjoyment. I did have to look up a community guide to get ultrawide to work. Soundtrack is quite thematic and adds to the story, while the sfx feel impactful across the battles. Some nitpicks would be the inability to rebind keys. Also, there is no reason for a game this old to be forced to use the epic launcher, especially since most people will be playing this single player.
