Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 26 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Awesome game. I wish there was more single player campaign and story!

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

предлагаю чтобы каждый раз, когда разработчики или издатели захотят перекусить в макдональдсе, их заказ принимали в бургер кинге, чек выдавали в KFC, а саму еду им везли из мака в Dominos
Great game. Unfortunately, Gearbox is a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ headed by a cuck, so I can no longer support or play this amazing game. ♥♥♥♥ you Gearbox and ♥♥♥♥ you Pitchford
point positif: ressemble à Command and Conquer point négatif: manque cruellement de cartes/MAPS

An alright game. Bought it for the campaign. The story is shallow but presentation, theming and dialogues are very all good. I don't think that the game is difficult however the later mission often include enemy carriers that endlessly spawn-in units which is anoying and can get you into an unwinnable scenario. The game runs rather well. You can't rebind keys from the menu, but can from the configuration file in the game's installation Gearbox are a bunch of morons but thankfully there's a way to omit installing the Epic Games malware that the game tries to force upon your PC. Follow a guide under the game's guides section.
Conclusion
I'm not a fan of Homeworld - Deserts of Kharak -I came back and dabbled with it returning just to finish it. Its totally missable , at best being 7/10 as a strategy game - its 'ok' , but the story really killed it for me, so I'm closer to saying its 5-6/10. The strategy aspect is decent, but is nothing special.

I Was ok with:
-It does work as a generic RTS - it does look good; as far as Sandy world games look -The ship MOBA was a nice idea and worked ok

Things I do not like about HW-DO[R]K :
-How units work out across board. i.e. smaller ones seemed useless / balance - The story narrative was just Negative – I hated the story and the way it was perceived - Battle-chatter is not only not very good , but ruins the RTS game experience -Some UI decisions – including the above -Seems the game is half baked -Why use the Frigate and Cruiser class identifiers for each of these vehicles?

What I liked:
-The HW-DO[R]K is RTS, sure, it works. I'm sure any RTS player could have fun with it. -In saying that, its a technically good looking game; despite the entire look of the game is,... SAND. It almost looks like its meant to be a prototype. -I liked how the Flag ship had upgrades and did seem so customisable and adaptable – though I am not as fond of MOBA's as I am suggesting - this is an RTS game.
Things I did not like

balance
-'Strike craft INPARTICULAR - Assault tanks and the light assault glider things - were not very good or balanced. it seemed easy even with a bunch of artillery units to kill a large group of assault tanks. Then slap on the larger ships, and the tanks and lighter gliders are not useful at all. In the end, you make the odd AA unit and spam the artillery unit and that's it. it's just SO Formulaic for an RTS - with heavy tanks, artillery unit and fast speeders - I am not impressed. Don't get me wrong, if you are playing a large resourcing map, its possible the gliders may be useful, but I am sure, in-particular, for the campaign, they are totally useless. From a passing observation, if the gliders had lower HP and higher damage they could be balanced, which leads me to suggest that the devs did not bother to look at balance.
Same class names as Homeworld in space
-Then why use the same system as Homeworld for tanks? How is a cruiser class the same as vehicles? Why could they not make up a believable- other set of names – it just seemed silly.
story/narrative
-Unfortunately I found the story and narrative to be obnoxious. With the religious/romantic narrative to be contrived and battle chatter and the dialogue to be completely vapid. I found the narrative on the videos to be so bad and vapid, I muted it - I wont play this again to see what they said and I DONT CARE! Honestly, most of the narrative in the game adds nothing to the game. The Intel officer is the worst. He states the obvious always. I laughed out loud when he told me at the end game " we have never seen this ship before ! Be careful! ". And that is the Intel officer all the game ; not very Intelligent. -
Battle chatter
Further, the chatter from Homeworld is completely mis-interpreted. Remember when they say "hi" to the resource drop off points? Great wasn't it!? [ its great because not only did you hear him saying hi to a guy - to show the world LIVES!' BUT you learn a resourcer has dropped off his RUs, and they are now looping back to RU deposits again. On HW-DO[R]K, they are talking about how they "feel bad about something" " ohhh, its so quiet there must be something coming soon"- it says absolutely nothing about what is happening. This is the same for the UI chatter that tells you RU points have been emptied - which is nonsense and just spam, because 1 core area can contain 10 of those RU points, so to clear it, the game will spam that same line 10 TIMES! Its worse than vapid, because it just makes you say " hey I don't care", and ignore everything they said. Then you have to look for when your scavengers are idle, which IMO is wasted APM...Which is brain burn on top of that...
UI
The UI was ok, but I don't think they did as well as the original. At times it feels hard to zoom out enough. There is a soft spot where the UI in game shows you enough, and then the strategic view will then show you enough, without becoming meaningless. HW DO[R]K fails to hit this soft spot imo. Its not bad, but the land view is not high enough as its a standard and this transition between views requires constant orientation which is a chore and is disorientating.
Game seems half baked
Unity is also a good engine too , if they spent enough time tweaking this and working on the concept I am confident BBI ( what a stupid name) would have done something very effective – AND rememberable - its just the game is no where near well thought out enough game-wise.
End notes:
You know what?! I blame 'Take 2' AND Gearbox. This game needs more time in the oven. And at this point in time I hear Homeworld3 was a piece of trash and 'BBC' dont want to support it. Shame on the morons in Take 2 who have trashed yet another IP! This is done in Unity, which is unexpected – and its pretty good. But some parts just fall short - those parts have nothing to do with the engine, but how the dev chose to develop their game. I loved the original Homeworld ; Shame to see the series go they way it has.
