Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Aug 26 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I love this. Origin story for homeworld, brilliant gameplay, great graphics and iconic ship designs. This is my favourite homeworld story now
Wish you could zoom out a bit further without entering tactical view. Great game, nice revisiting childhood games.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Extremely good prequel to the original series. The gameplay is solid, though occasionally a little micro-heavy. What makes this game great though it the campaign's atmosphere. The lore is fantastic, really builds out what human society was like on Kharak before the events of homeworld 1. It's one of the few games that actually had me really thinking and making connections to homeworld 1, lots of foreshadowing. The voice acting is also phenominal, even for unnamed characters like "intel officer". The little personal logs between missions are super well done and makes me wish there were more cutscenes of the crew. If you liked homeworld 1/2, you'll like this. If you're even mildly interested in the lore of homeworld you'll LOVE this.
Hi Blackbird. This land based version of Homeworld was absolutely an amazing piece of work but you only developed one campaign of this game. It was completely outstanding game play! When will you be creating more of these? Deserts of Kharak was the best fun I had since C&C days at its peak!... Can you bring back more land based Homeworld like this please? Maybe in Forest regions, or even dual Space and land games where game play covers both?
Fun game, story was alright, not deep. But enjoyable and different for an RTS game. No mod support sadly. good for a play through or two.
Отличная игра, в которую невозможно играть из-за постоянных вылетов. Я так понял, спасибо эпикам.
other than being unable to change keyboard shortcuts in a easy manner (have to use the config file in the \Deserts of Kharak\out\cloud) the story and game on harder levels is quite enjoyable.
I loved HW, liked HW2, loved HWC. Was hugely disappointed with this back when it came out. The game claims to be Homeworld but is actually Dune 2, except somehow worse. The mechanics which are forgivable for a 3D space RTS are very obviously not working too well in a ground-based RTS - it's repetitive and honestly, boring. The story is okay, except if you played the other HW games before this, you already know how it ends and what happens, so it fails to entertain. I might have liked it if this was the first HW game I played, but it wasn't, so thumbs down. But HEY, at least it's not Homeworld 3.
The game forces you to download Epic Games Store. No deal, thanks.
