Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Aug 24 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Story is total Bananas but the Spaceship combat is actually fun.
The story was so so so bad. I can see why its mostly negative. I want my time back....

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

By the martyrs of Kharak, this game is terrible and not even remotely worthy of being affiliated with the Homeworld franchise. Between the terrible story with its just as terrible or even worse cutscenes and the quite honestly half-baked gameplay, it just isn't worth playing or spending money on. If you want a good Homeworld game just get the Remastered Collection, or better yet the originals if ya can. Even Deserts of Kharak was better than this travesty.
How this travesty can still be listed at $59.99 to this day is unbelievable. For this to have been developed by Blackbird Interactive which apparently was helmed by one of the original Homeworld developer makes me scratch my head as to how they got so many things wrong. They shifted the story away from the GOAT Karan S'jet to a Nepo kid that they don't spend much time to build up or make us care for, other than being a descendant of Karan and the golden age that she set in motion. Then she gets tossed into this half-baked story with the Incarnate with similarly half-baked Space Witch Voodoo which I'm not sure if they were trying to make her mysterious or menacing, and failed at both. The 3D cutscenes were not well done, although I did appreciate they made some attempt to shift away from what I feel were boring 2D parallax images, which was not very engaging. The overall graphics in the engine were actually quite good, it's too bad the game mechanics didn't lead to getting immersed in the beauty of the graphics. When the campaign frequently yanks you out of what you're doing to force you to watch cut scene or listen to exposition and then it leaves you there and doesn't even return you back to what you were doing. It did this through the entire campaign, it was so aweful. Their attempt to add more depth by having you navigate through some 3D structures was just tedious and boring. I think the idea was that it might add some different angles to use these structures for cover or create killzones or something, but the UI and the ship mechanics implemented did not allow this to be possible due to how cumbersome it was to command the fleet through 3D space. The multiplayer started off with very few people and essentially became non-existent. The gameplay was not compelling at all, with only two factions with essentially no ship variety between them. Then as many others have stated, rather than try to address any of this, they just went radio silent. Don't waste your money. You shouldn't even buy this if it ever drops to $10, it's that bad.
Very weird balancing, AI movement is honestly so bad its infuriating. Youll tell your destroyers to move away from an enemy missile frigate. And when you look away they will then have attempted to charge them on their own and died. Ship designs are boring and lack any sort of creativity, the destroyer looks almost identical to an upscaled frigate etc etc. Get this game if you can get it for free or for VERY cheap.
To jedna z najgorzej napisanych fabularnie gier jaką miałem nieprzyjemność grać, ewidentnie osoby tworzące historie mają poważne problemy emocjonalne bądź poznawcze świata w którym żyjemy, nie potrafią składnie złożyć całej historii w całość. Jest ona nieangażująca, idiotyczna, dziecinna i mam nadzieję że nie stworzą oni już żadnej innej gry.
As of 2025. I've always been a huge fan of the series. The game is not on par with the first 3, and I don't exactly agree with multiple directions they've taken with the story. But that doesn't mean the game is bad at all, nostalgia screamed at me and I've had a lot of fun despite not being their best. 7.5/10
Tried my best to give it a chance, but couldn't take the story or game seriously after the leapfrog mission. The cutscenes are poorly made. The main tactic is to bunch all your units together and send them at an objective.

Full disclosure, homeworld 2 was my childhood. Hours and hours in skirmish, on the cd rom version and before steam, before mods even. What a triumph of a game. Nevermind that homeworld 1 was just as good. The remastered versions are just as good if not better. Get those instead. After this paragraph is my review of the so-called third game in the series. Subsystems are gone. There was no reason not to have them. What the crap were they thinking? This game might have been okay if it didn't have the homeworld reputation attached to it. The gameplay is decent, the visuals and audio are the best parts. That's about where the good things to say about "homeworld" 3 end. Because the story is crap. The cutscenes are overacted crap. They have the fleet dialogue in just fine, but that's, again, where the good things to say about the story end. Get this game for $20 or less. Maybe in 10 years, they'll stop being greedy and drop the price a bit. I made the mistake of getting it at $45 (50% off), and refunded it within 24 hours. Don't be like me.
