I got this game for 2 euro and even though I enjoyed it, it'd be difficult for me to pay any more The core gameplay loop is fun. Tending to plants up close with physics and such is fun and intuitive. Mana channeling is a great mechanic which helps support the whole magic narrative and also greatly boosts plant growth, although it gets a little repetitive after a while. Ambient tracks and general sound design are great. The miscalenious sounds such as navigating menus, spells running out, mana getting lower, footsteps, etc. are all done very well. The contrast between the calm, cheerful ambiance of the main base and the dreadful, hostile atmosphere in the miasma really amplifies the sense of danger and urgency. The broom mechanic was executed in a way I haven't seen before, giving you access to physics-based movement with momentum in an otherwise static game, movement wise. I really liked the cat! loved the cat. great cat. voiced by spiderman. crazy. amazing cat. great performance. voice acting in general is great here. In terms of visuals, the game has its moments, but generally its just kinda ugly. The 2d art is great, you can see it in the game banner, the ui, the achievements, but some of the 3d models are just downright ugly, most glaringly the player character. you can tell what kind of artstyle they were going for, maybe if they had more resources they could've executed it better. The biggest flaw in my opinion is the lighting system. The rough, harsh shadows just don't work well here. Animations mostly look cheap and flimsy. I can think of one or two that are halfway decent, but most of them are pretty rough. Again, mainly your own, the ones that you'll be seeing for the entirety of the game. You get used to them eventually and it doesn't exactly ruin the experience, but it's another detail that makes the game feel unpolished. Most of my playtime and engagement came from doing the sidequests. You don't get anything particularly game changing as rewards for them, the main big rewards are cosmetics. If you're interested in that you might like it. I enjoy customization, which isn't half bad in this game, and it gave me an incentive to seek out new plants and harvest my own more. Writing in this game isn't much to write home about. In the first area, you're essentially exploring what remains of your family member's past, connecting with them in a way. If the game was driven more by such narrative, it would've been great. Unfortunetaly, it's only present in that area and the rest don't hold the same weight. You can tell this was a console release first and pc version second. Basically no graphics settings, runs 30fps on a competent rig at times. There's no post-game content and the homebase customization is lackluster, there might aswell not be any. If you can look past some of it's flaws and you're into the whole witch aesthetic, it's a good time!
kinda nice
love this game so much, my girlfriend loves watching me too, works pretty well even without using a gaming pc and even if the quality is turned to it's lowest it's quite visually pleasing, would recommend!
I love this game and it's story! It seriously needs more love and attention! Hopefully it gets more attention updates for the game can come. Huckleberry and the Hermit are such great characters!
This game is highly underrated. It's so beautiful, has a very nice story, a cute cat, is witchy,... It has a few bugs but none that would lessen the fun - at least for me. The only real downsite is that I only really liked the outfit one gets towards the end but apart from that this is a purrrfect game. I luve it, enjoyed it greatly and would definitely recommend it. I can't think of a reason to not try this one one :)
This is a beautiful and amazing game with a great story.
Didn't really care for this game. The graphics looked so good on the trailer, but honestly was slow and boring.
This game is a mixed bag! Absolutely do not get it at full price, wait for it to go on sale, but I did ultimately have a lot of fun so I will recommend it. I will start off with my reservations: some of the gameplay is kind of janky, and while I didn't run into this there are some game breaking bugs that make it inadvisable to use the in game auto save. Just do your own manual saves every now and then so you can reload one if something goes wrong. Some aspects of the game feel unpolished, like the exploration and the quest system (you get all the quests way before you can actually complete them, which I found a bit stressful at first before I figured out they're just for cosmetics and don't really impact the story). The development team seems to have abandoned this game, so any bugs are there to stay, and we can't expect any new content. With that being said, I did actually find myself enjoying the main gameplay loop. I liked gardening and getting all the crafting recipes, and planning out my next trip into the miasma. I like the story, and the characters were fun, and the world was very interesting to explore. I like how the game pushed me out of my cozy farm comfort zone to explore to get more plants and recipes and story. Some spoilery advice if you find yourself struggling in this game:
Travelling is a lot more fun once you unlock the broom, which you'll get after clearing the first miasma area.

There are several big miasma areas, and each require several baby dust eaters before you dispel the miasma from them. But once you do, you'll get a new campsite that you can fast travel to, and a bunch of new plants. And you can even cure some of the miasma creatures!

Craft so much salsa and you can tank pretty much anything. Avoiding/ distracting the creatures had quite a mixed rate of success for me, but I managed with a combination of the shadow spell and healing after getting hit.

Use the ripple spell potion to check for stuff you've missed! ESPECIALLY around healed scars and when you break through the pink crystal areas. You can get stuff that upgrades your spell slots, health and mana, and mask that way, but it can be easy to miss!
This game is rough around the edges, and I would absolutely recommend reading some other reviews before making your final decision. But I enjoyed it quite a bit, especially once I pushed through the first bit and got used to the gameplay loop, so you might enjoy it too!
I loved this game. The story was great and really pulled at my heartstrings. I enjoyed the exploration and farming and loved the concept of this game. I highly recommend it and I never had any issues with the game.
