A fun VN, but I have to recommend it very hesitantly. As in, grab it on sale if you can. The premise is good, the writing is interesting, and the cast is fun. Only problem is, there's not actually much decision-making to be done. The majority of your choices don't matter and all lead to the same exact outcome. Think you can save this character? Guess again, odds are good that you can't. A lot of scenes that could have involved a choice simply... don't, and some have you making a choice only for the protagonist to go "Actually, no." Why was I given a choice then? What was the point of that? Now in some cases, that wouldn't be a problem, but unfortunately this is a very short game, and while the writing is good, it isn't groundbreaking. There are three routes, and doing every route to get every ending and every achievement took me about 6 hours, which isn't much for a $12 game. That's bearing in mind that I didn't really even enjoy every route, I just felt like I may as well see everything to get my money's worth. Are my standards just high? I don't think so, but maybe. All in all, solid 6/10. Would highly recommend if it was closer to like $5.

I don't even play visual novels and loved this. Really funny and has something to say. I went in just supporting the writer, Merrit K, as I like their other work. Came out of the experience with a feeling of having been seen and food for thought for weeks at the least.
Short Review
Gameplay: 10/10 Visuals: 10/10 Audio/Sound Design: 10/10 Voice Acting: N/A Story: 10/10 Overall: 10/10
Gameplay
10/10 Your standard visual novel, I use 5/10 as the standard rate for this software. The extra points come from the choices themselves. Your choices, although not always affecting the earlier story, really matter when you get towards the last three days. The story completely changes depending on who you do or do not romance (which I will write about later in this review), but mentioning this is relevant because it shows that each playthrough can truly be unique. Not only that, there is a lot of flexibility in your options. The game will never force you to do something to progress the story, this also includes romancing the characters, you can play the game completely without romance if you so choose. Overall, your choices matter, and each option you give feels important and meaningful.
Visuals
10/10 All of the art is absolutely beautiful, and the full renders for certain scenes (I believe they're called CGs?) are all visually appealing and interesting. Spoilers for Stefan's route but,
the CG of Stefan being muzzled for the fashion show is genuinely what pushed me into buying this game. Love a man in a muzzle!
Not only that, the character designs are so strong and creative that each one is basically eye-candy for any artist (or art appreciator). Their personalities fit their designs so well that it turns originally uninteresting concepts into fledged out characters. I originally had zero interest in Stefan, finding him to perhaps be a bit "basic," especially when compared to characters like Eight. But once playing through his story, his design has grown on me hard. I can truly connect that man's brain to his face so well that it becomes hard to imagine that I wasn't fond of him at first.
Audio/Sound Design
10/10 MAJOR props to the composer of the original soundtracks for this VN! I swear, if I could listen to all of this on repeat for the rest of my life I physically would. It fits the vampiric theme perfectly, while providing catchy background noise. My only complaint that could possibly come from this game is that some of the noises, such as the later explosions in one route, are extremely loud. But that can be changed in the settings, so that doesn't dock points at all! (It would if the settings, like many VN I've seen using this software, didn't work. But they do!)
Voice Acting
N/A No voice acting, and the game itself doesn't require it, so it doesn't affect the game whatsoever.
Story
10/10 Oh my God, where do I even start??? Each route feels fresh, and each romance has an undeniably unique story I've never seen / rarely seen elements of in any other visual novel, not to mention the world itself is so well-fleshed out. The unique take on vampires that still stays true to the core of vampirism while removing all the weird or unnecessary stereotypes (and often making fun of them along the way) has absolutely filled a vampire-shaped heart in my hole. The fact that the author(s?) of this VN took the time to fully flesh out what a vampire society would truly feel like, and how it impacts all the characters we directly interact within Fledgling Manor, is something so important and yet often times so overlooked within visual novels. There was a lot of thought and love to make these characters feel real in a world where vampires exist, alongside with making the world itself make sense. I truly feel this story would be so much more bleak if the writer(s?) didn't plan out how the overarching society and community of vampires would logically play out within our modern world. Not to mention the romances were amazing! I went on a whole spiel on the original version of this review, but I genuinely wrote so much it got character-capped. Just know that each romance carries a surprisingly unique and well thought-out story with major changes within the plot depending on who you romance. If you're not sure where to start, Eight's story has the most insight to the vampire society alongside a more fulfilling ending that makes you feel like you made an impact on more than just your own life. Stefan and Aanya's stories are more focused on forming a relationship specific to the two and your own self-survival.
Finishing Notes
This game was my absolute favorite visual novel I've ever played. The 10/10 was absolutely earned. I played it for 14 hours straight the first day I got it to 100% the game, and I do not regret a single second of reading in my life. It's a true shame there is no fandom behind it, because this in my eyes was an absolute masterpiece. A diamond in the rough. It is worth every cent you will spend on it, please trust me on this. ESPECIALLY if you love vampires. I GENUINELY CANNOT EXPRESS HOW WELL THIS VISUAL NOVEL PORTRAYS THE VAMPIRE SOCIETY! IT IS SO WELL DONE! I SWEAR! Thank you to the developers for my new obsession. Seriously.
It's OK. * Story: that's the best part of this game, as the last man standing premise itself is interesting and the story is easy to follow and pretty short (my time played at the time of the review reflects how long it took me to do all routes and get all achievements); * MC: is not that compelling; talks too much about smoking and weed; doesn't know his country's history nor basic geography; he's portrayed as a bit of a loser on purpose but I feel he needed SOMETHING to make me care about him, which I didn't; * Romaces: the 3 ROs are not that well developed despite the premise that should have revealed everything about them; romances are flimsy; there's not really any sexual tension that usually comes with vampire stories; in one of the routes, I didn't even know where the passion scene sprouted from, as up to that point I wasn't even sure I was on that character's route (Stephan); on some other route I was sure I was on Anya's but turned out to be on Eight's. Yes, "romances" are that subtle, low chemistry, lack buildup. Anya's route can't even be called a romance, tbh. They tried to push a certain portrayal of vampires in this game (ruthless, emotionless etc) and they did a great job at that, but they lost romances feeling romantic in the process; * Music: is nice but at times it just cuts off for long stretches of time; * Art: I liked the art; the characters changing outfits at some point was a nice surprise; * CGs: not a whole lot, about 3 per RO and a bunch of common route ones; some skin shown in some of them, but all pretty tame; * VN features: About all you need - enough save slots for the length of this game, can be saved even on choices, can just roll back to previous page / choice and don't need to reload, skip is fast except for a few transitions, has gallery.
I LOVED THIS I NEED FANFIC STAT
A short and fun visual novel. The art style is just *chef's kiss* and I could vibe with the nice backround music. The story is fine, it's not super deep but interesting enough to keep me invested. The three romance routes show three different glimpses into this little world and what type of vampire our protagonist can become, even though it's clear that
Eight's
route is the most thought-out one. All in all, a lighthearted and enjoyable experience.
