Information / Review English
Home Designer - Living Room is a Puzzle / Hidden object Game developed by Tamalaki Games. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2300169044
Gameplay / Story
Your aunt would like to have her house renovated, but she doesn't have the necessary change. But this is not so bad, because she has Hazel who helps her aunt with the renovation of the house. Your task is to make new out of old. That means you sell your aunt's old stuff and then renovate the empty rooms such as the living room and understand this with real furniture and design it according to your dreams. But for that you still need the right change ... The game offers you countless hidden object modes such as: silhouette, spot the difference, hidden objects and much more! Also mini-games like match-3, card memory, puzzles have made it into the game. After connecting this you will receive money which you can invest in new furniture. There are also help functions that will help you if you don't know what to do next. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2300169006
Pro
+ Long-term motivation + large selection of different mini-games + Brain training + Soundtrack that fits + good menu navigation
Contra
- Some mini-games are very difficult - big no change
Conclusion
Home Designer - Living Room scores with the large Selection of Mini-games that offer you long-term Motivation. However, more variety would have been good for the game. I would buy the game in a sale. PS: First of all, many thanks to the developer who provided us with this key for the group. Here you can find more good reviews from others and me at https://store.steampowered.com/curator/26335619-Adult-World-Gamers/.
Information / Review Deutsch
Home Designer - Living Room ist ein Puzzle/Wimmelbild-Spiel, welches von Tamalaki Games entwickelt wurde. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2300169044
Gameplay / Geschichte
Kontra
- Minispiele teils sehr schwer - groß keine Abwechslung
Fazit
This is a routine mobile ported hidden object casual puzzle/adventure game with a interior decoration/home improvement theme. Solving various puzzles and hidden object minigames progresses the plot and unravels the mystery. As with most mobile ported HOGs, there's a simplistic interface, locked/unchangeable screen resolution, next to no customisability, and somewhat low resolution graphical assets. All of this puts this game below minimum standards for a contemporary PC game. This one is also simplified, it's just a linear set of puzzles thrown at you one after the other, there's no adventure component. Once more we see greedy mobile devs trying to scam PC gamers. On Steam, they're charging $6, on app stores, it's completely free. Mobile devs must learn PC gamers are not here to be gouged, and can't be expected to pay a premium for a free mobile game just because it's been lazily dumped on Steam. This is unacceptable disrespect for PC gamers.
Also muss man wohl oder übel weitere Minispiele absolvieren, wenn man ans Ziel kommen will. Klare Nichtempfehlung.
I initially thought it was a cheap mobile ripoff, and frankly it essentially is. It would be good if the pictures were better quality and there were achievements. In addition some of the puzzle types were extremely limited - what leaps to mind was the jigsaw puzzle, which had only a single picture as far as I can tell. Having complained about stuff - the fact I am still playing it is an indication that I rather like it. I wish there was a mehhh judgement on steam. I got it in a bundle - I would say it is not worth the current $3.99 asking price. Reluctantly here is a downvote.

The beauty of it is that Hazel’s aunt has plenty of objects to liquidate, and all proceeds will go towards paying for the new furniture and decorations. What a great idea for two rookies to get involved in the world of home design. Don’t disappoint Hazel’s aunt, as she is looking forward to a brand-spanking new living room. Home Designer - Living Room is a casual Hidden object game that also includes several mini-games and was developed by Mad Data and published by HH-Games on the 26th of August 2020 on the Steam platform. What an enjoyable little game to pass the time, and it seems to go on forever and ever, which is good for replayability. It is very suitable for all ages, and I would encourage people to play with their children as most of the levels are well-suited for youngsters around 6 years old, although some levels that involve words instead of images might be a bit difficult for them. If you are still in the early stages of your life, like me (around 50), you’ll be fine and might enjoy it too! What I like about this game is that it provides hidden object levels in 15 different ways, which is really good. For example, some levels will show pictures, words or silhouetted objects, in others you will have to memorise the image or objects. You also have several mini-games, where you have to either play a Match 3 (with a couple of modes), pair cards in which the set of cards is face down at the start, find words in a grid of letters, reconstruct puzzles and challenge yourself in a mahjong game. Each of the levels is based on time. So, you have a time gauge that moves down steadily on the normal level of difficulty and slightly faster on the hard difficulty. You’ll receive money after finishing the level and a bit extra if you manage to complete it before the time runs out. In the hidden objects stages, there are two collectables to find for additional cash: a gold coin and the Origaming logo. There are no other ways to gain more cash in the mini-games, except for match 3 games if you detonate a bomb. If you experience some difficulty finding items in the hidden object levels, you still have two hint buttons to help you. But there are some issues in this game. The first one is the quality of the pictures, which are really below average, which is a bit of a shame. There are not many picture variations, which is not great. To give you an idea, the puzzle mini-game only has one picture for the entire game. Regarding the decoration of the living room itself, it’s ok. After collecting cash, you can go back to the living room and purchase some goods. There are 17 different areas to decorate, each of which has around 10 items you can select from and varies in value. So ensure you have enough money on hand in case you see an item you want to purchase. Despite the lack of pictures and average graphics, the game has enough variations to provide good replayability and is fun to play. I play this game on my 4k 32 inches monitor without any issue whatsoever. Positives: ~~~~~~~ + Easy to play for all ages + 15 different Hidden Objects scenes + 5 mini-games + Over 150 items to decorate your living room Negatives: ~~~~~~~~ - Average graphics - Not enough picture variations - No achievements or trading cards as yet Despite the lack of picture variation and average graphics, Home Designer - Living Room is a fun Hidden Objects game for all ages. 6/10 Key provided by the developer/publisher for review purposes.
