For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Hollow Steps is an indie first-person puzzle adventure developed by QuickSave and published by SA Industry that places players inside a mysterious digital simulation designed to test problem-solving ability. Rather than focusing on action or combat, the game revolves around exploration, logic puzzles, and environmental interaction. The experience presents itself as a kind of experimental trial run by a fictional technology company, where participants enter artificial worlds filled with intellectual challenges. As players progress through these tests, they begin to notice strange irregularities within the system, hinting that the simulation may not be functioning exactly as intended. The premise begins with the player participating in a virtual test environment created by a company called Dartom Inc. These simulated worlds are meant to measure the intelligence and adaptability of the individuals who enter them. Each participant is placed into a digital environment filled with puzzles that must be solved before they can exit the simulation and receive an evaluation of their performance. The setup initially feels like a controlled scientific experiment, but as the player explores further, the program begins to exhibit unusual behavior. Subtle hints suggest that something within the system is interfering with the simulation, creating a sense of mystery around the true nature of the environment. Gameplay unfolds entirely from a first-person perspective, allowing players to directly explore the simulation as if they were physically present inside it. The environments consist of contained puzzle areas connected together in a way that encourages careful exploration. Rather than providing explicit instructions, the game expects players to study their surroundings and determine how different mechanisms interact with each other. This approach emphasizes observation and experimentation, rewarding players who take the time to examine environmental clues and consider multiple solutions. The puzzles themselves are designed around environmental manipulation and logical deduction. Many of the challenges involve interacting with computer panels, switches, and mechanical systems that alter the layout of the environment. Players may need to activate certain devices in a specific order, redirect pathways, or discover hidden mechanisms that unlock new areas. Because the puzzles are integrated into the environment itself, progress often depends on recognizing patterns or understanding how different parts of the system are connected. A distinctive aspect of the puzzle structure is the way smaller challenges unlock access to larger ones. Throughout the simulation, players encounter several compact puzzle areas that act as gateways to more complex tasks. Solving these preliminary puzzles opens the path toward the main challenges, creating a layered progression system that gradually increases the difficulty. This structure ensures that players build familiarity with the mechanics before facing the more demanding puzzles later in the game. The game also introduces a secondary objective that encourages deeper exploration of the environment. Hidden throughout the simulation are several collectible fragments that must be located and gathered by the player. These fragments serve as keys for unlocking a mysterious safe somewhere within the world. Because they are scattered across different areas and sometimes hidden in less obvious locations, finding them requires careful observation and thorough exploration. This optional collectible hunt adds an additional layer of challenge for players who wish to uncover everything the environment has to offer. Although the game contains only a limited number of main puzzles, each one is designed to present a unique challenge. Rather than repeating the same mechanics, the puzzles often require players to approach problems from different perspectives. Some tasks rely heavily on spatial reasoning, while others focus on understanding how interactive systems influence the surrounding environment. This variety helps maintain interest even though the overall structure of the game remains relatively compact. Visually, Hollow Steps adopts a minimalist and somewhat abstract aesthetic that reinforces the idea of a constructed virtual world. The environments are often clean, geometric, and slightly artificial in appearance, as though they were built specifically for testing purposes rather than representing a natural location. Lighting and color choices contribute to the mysterious atmosphere, creating areas that feel quiet and isolated. The simplicity of the visual design ensures that puzzle elements remain clear and easy to recognize. The first-person perspective enhances the sense of immersion by placing the player directly inside the simulation. Rather than observing the puzzles from a distant viewpoint, players must physically move through the environment to understand how different elements interact. This design choice encourages players to explore every corner of each area, carefully studying objects and pathways that might provide clues for solving the puzzles. Sound design also plays a role in shaping the atmosphere of the game. The audio presentation is intentionally restrained, with subtle ambient sounds and minimal music accompanying the player’s exploration. This quiet soundscape reinforces the sense of isolation within the digital environment and allows players to focus fully on the puzzles in front of them. The absence of constant music or dramatic sound effects helps maintain a calm and contemplative mood. Despite its intriguing premise, Hollow Steps is relatively short compared to many modern puzzle games. The limited number of puzzle areas means that experienced players may complete the game within a single session. Because the mechanics remain consistent throughout the experience, there are few major surprises once players understand how the puzzles work. For some players, this brevity may leave them wishing for a larger world or more complex challenges. However, the game’s focused structure can also be seen as one of its strengths. By concentrating on a small collection of puzzles rather than filling the game with unnecessary content, the developers created a streamlined experience that emphasizes quality over quantity. Each puzzle exists for a clear purpose and contributes directly to the progression of the simulation. Overall, Hollow Steps offers a compact and atmospheric puzzle adventure that emphasizes exploration and logical thinking. Its mysterious simulation setting, environmental puzzle design, and optional collectible challenges create a thoughtful experience that rewards careful observation. While the game’s limited scope prevents it from becoming a large-scale puzzle epic, it still provides an engaging mental challenge for players who enjoy unraveling environmental mysteries and solving cleverly designed puzzles within a strange digital world.
The game "Hollow Steps" left me disappointed. While the concept of a virtual world is intriguing, the execution falls short. The puzzles are too repetitive and fail to inspire a desire to solve them. I found a lack of depth and variety to keep my interest alive. Instead of an engaging experience, I ended up with a tedious pastime. I do not recommend this game if you are looking for something truly captivating.

Two and a half years ago the developer responded to a comment about a game breaking bug, showing that they already knew about it, and this bug has still not been fixed ... Only way to get around it if you encounter it is to delete your save and start from the beginning. Good thing the game's not long, but it's so unnecessary! Another bug I noticed: If you pause the game and click "Options", then click "Play" to return to the game, the Options window will stay open and be impossible to close without exiting to the main menu. Also possible to get stuck in the geometry(some places just stopping your movement, other places causing you to have to exit to main menu), and some places you can see "inside" and through the ruin walls 3D assets used. Also the text for interacting with objects appear even if the objects aren't visible and interactable yet. On top of that, the minimum amount of storytelling is not at all engaging, and the few puzzles aren't particularly rewarding. I think the couple of ideas the developer implemented barebones in this game could've had the potential to be developed into something interesting, but the developer has not done this at all. There are also a handful of buttons in the game that does absolutely nothing except play a sound file, except for one of them which changes the material/texture on the object it's connected to. And though probably not a problem for most players, if you're running on a lower spec computer then you'll have trouble running this game without lag. It seems to be the classic beginner mistake of not understanding how various visual effects, as well as polygon count etc., affect performance. Even at the lowest graphics setting, the performance is absolutely terrible compared to the graphics you get. (And I'm not going to go into that horrible motion blur!) Honestly, this game feels like the developer was just trying out functions in the game building engine while they were learning it, and then did the absolute minimum to be able to call it a game before publishing. And then decided to just not fix any of the problems with it after release. It's cases like these where I'd like to see the developer take responsibility for the game they're still selling, and put whatever experience they've gained since the release to fix bugs and other problems the game has got. And then make sure future games they make are released at a higher standard. 100% in almost 3 hours. (Mostly due to the bugs and other problems mentioned above.)
