This game was truly my favorite casual game on mobile back in the day. I loved it so much that happily grinded match after match until I finally unlocked the ultimate "One for Hole, Hole for One" skin. When I heard it was coming to Steam, I was beyond excited and bought the complete bundle with all DLCs on day one. But after actually playing it, I was deeply disappointed. The developers must really hate the PC version of this game, because the entire Steam release is filled with their carelessness and ill will. I forced myself through 100% completion out of pure attachment to what the game used to be. I even cried myself awake in the middle of the night because of how bad it was. It's well known that Hole.io is a pseudo-IO game where the other holes are just AI. But once you're releasing on Steam, why not finally add proper online multiplayer? Even if online play wasn't possible, the local multiplayer mode is practically unplayable too, cuz the keyboard and controller inputs conflict with each other, even the controllers are conflict with each other. What's even harder to understand is that this is somehow still designed like a mobile game despite being a 2026 PC release. There aren't even basic PC options like windowed mode or graphics settings. Forced to play 4K full-screen but lowpoly models that don't even render properly due to "LOD" or so called "optimization", it's pure torture. The overall game design is equally confusing. Why can't I respawn when I die in single-player mode? And if you're not going to let me respawn anyway, why bother adding a death cooldown timer? Brain? Why is map selection tucked away in a separate menu that forces to go back to the main menu? Why isn't there even a random map option like the mobile version? Then there's the sticker system, which feels completely disconnected from the rest of the game and serves no meaningful purpose. If you're going to add a gacha mechanic, why not let us pull for hole skins instead??? And Endless Mode is just... awful. It feels completely pointless, boring and adds nothing to the experience. Voodoo seems interested only in releasing more DLCs while making virtually no effort to improve the actual game. What could have become an incredible online and party game with huge long term potential has instead been turned into what feels like an intentionally frustrating half finished product. The developers seem to harbor some kind of hatred toward this game, it is still plagued by bugs to this day. I really wish they'll wake up one day and finally give this game the attention and improvements it deserves. 这个游戏真的是我当年手机上最爱的休闲游戏,我乐此不疲地一局一局硬肝出了One for Hole, Hole for One的最终皮肤。

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

In Hole io, you play as a hole in the ground that eats objects to get bigger. This seems to be the same as the mobile version of this game. This game is often compared with Donut County: both have the same general concept, but whereas Donut County offers more depth, story, polish, and shows more effort put into it, Hole io provides far more replay value. There are 6 levels in the base game and currently 9 DLCs. Only 1 level is initially accessible, and you have to use in-game currency (coins) to unlock the other 5. For the main campaign, you play in a 2 minute round against CPU-controlled players. The more objects you eat, the bigger the hole grows, and the higher your score gets. Each round has an optional objective which involves eating a certain item(s), providing some variety. I agree with a lot of the pros and cons by reviewer Kate_Love: PROS:

Easy, casual game to understand and play
2 minutes per round makes this game ideal if you want to pick it up and play for just a few minutes
Can be addicting if you're into this type of game
Fair price ($5 for the base game) for the amount of enjoyment I got out of it
Has power-ups and upgrades
Good variety of maps
Funky music
The achievements, while some may be grindy, are doable
Many collectible stickers, which don't have any effect on the gameplay but are nice to look at
Numerous unlockable skins (13 in base game, plus 7-9 per DLC, for a total of 85 currently available)
CONS:

Multiplayer broken: The option is grayed out. I'm not sure how long it hasn't been working, but it seems that it has been unavailable ever since this game was released on Steam based on the reviews.
The controls don't quite seem to be optimized for PC - the hole does not follow your cursor directly, but rather an area AROUND your cursor. It's very hard to explain, but this will be immediately noticeable when you play your first round. You will have to recenter the area around the cursor multiple times each round. It'll take some time to get used to this game's handling if you play with a mouse. You can also use your keyboard, but that method is less precise and more clunky.
Currently only 2 gameplay modes available: classic and endless hole (I'm not including multiplayer because it's broken). For comparison, the app version has classic, battle royale, and solo run. holeio.com offers classic, battle royale, teams, solo run, and monsters attack. The inclusion of a larger variety of gameplay modes that could be unlocked with coins or by progressing in classic mode would be a great addition to the game.
No respawn when you die: If you're making good progress on an objective but you die, the round's over. On the other hand, the bots are able to respawn with no problem.
No restart: If you get an objective that you don't want to complete, there is no option to restart the level; you can only return to the main menu.
No scoreboard/leaderboard: This game does not save your high scores, which would have been nice to record your progress/skill and a great incentive for continued play.
Dumb computer AI: The bots will ignore you and only aim to eat items, generally posing little threat to you once you get past the first 30 seconds of the game. Occasionally, they will get stuck while trying to eat an item that is too large for them and they will remain in place while spinning rapidly. I have also had bots run right into me and die while I was standing still. The vast majority of the time, you will most likely get first place in every round.
Some of the bots start out as a bigger size than you, even if you have maxed out the size power-up. This can offer some challenge and variety, but on the other hand, it can make completing objectives more difficult.
Some of the objectives are very difficult to complete or broken (it won't register if you eat the required objects)
Huge reward amount difference between ranking and objective completion. If you complete an objective, you get 600 coins, compared to if you place 1st (50 coins), 2nd (25), or 3rd (10).
Unable to change your display name from "PLAYER". On the other hand, the bots have some pretty creative and interesting display names.
Endless mode isn't very interesting and slows down drastically after level 15.
If you like the gameplay loop of "hole eats thing -> hole gets bigger" and are looking for a casual game where you can turn your brain off, then you'll find enjoyment here. If the lack of multiplayer isn't a deal-breaker for you, then this game is worth buying either at full price ($5) or a sale, even considering its flaws. The DLCs are $2 per map ($18 total for all 9), which is definitely not worth purchasing at full price, so wait for a sale before purchasing them as a bundle.
It is incredible how bad this game is, without even talking about the grindy achievements, some of which don't even unlock

oyun çok güzel hem ucuz almanızı öneririm
baixei muito o cortisol, gosto de alargar meu buraquinho pra ficar maior.
Controls very sluggish, browser version is better, very disappointed Edit: I tried the endless mode, it's beyond retarded. You use the mouse move to a direction, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ holes goes ANYWHERE BUT THAT DIRECTION, it's absurdly stupid, do not buy this piece of ♥♥♥♥
goooooooood
I wish I knew it was not multiplayer online. That is my bad for not checking, but I assumed as I used to play on my phone and it was. I only paid $1 for it, so it is not a huge loss, but I wish it was online multiplayer.
