Driving in this game is simply not enjoyable or rewarding due to several design flaws and a lack of experience. The controls are the same as in any other racing game. Aside from the standard steering, acceleration, and breaking controls, you also get two buttons for shooting forward or backward, as well as a respawn button. The modes are basic, with only a tournament mode where you can choose the number of tracks to play (up to 4) and a time mode where the goal is to beat a single lap fast enough to win the golden trophy. Despite multiple customization choices, such as race length and the number of AI drivers, only the default settings work if you're interested in unlocking further content. And this is required if you want to win. While the selection of drivers is nice and everyone comes with a little bio, this is merely a cosmetic change that has no impact on gameplay. Some of them must also be unlocked. The same is true for cars. Unfortunately, even though there are nine cars with varying stats, their appearance is too similar to be exciting. The biggest issue is that driving is not enjoyable. The overall bright hues and lightning that make your eyes hurt are the first distracting factor. Because the UI is white, it frequently goes unseen because it blends in with the background. Another issue is poor optimization. Graphics are not good enough to justify such a large use of resources. There's also a significant graphical glitch in which the car occasionally "stutters" for no apparent reason. Then there's the disastrous collision that is very common in indie racing games. This frequently results in situations where you collide with an element of the environment and the car either gets stuck or completely stops. Or it flips upside down when driving over a small bump. Or it spins around if you barely touch your rival’s car. Pressing the respawn button after every crash is not a fun experience. The game features a distinct mechanic. After the first lap, you can earn a boost for your engine. This is accomplished by hitting a button that sends you to a pit stop where you have to execute a QTE. You want to complete this as quickly as possible because the activation time of the upgrade is determined by how many buttons you press correctly. Another benefit of this mechanic is the autopilot mode that sends you forward to make up for the time missed in the pit stop. I believe the game would have worked better if the default setting didn’t include power-ups. You're continuously confronted with oncoming threats that ruin what could have been a decent driving experience. Because cars have poor acceleration and there’s no invincibility, you may catch a missile before reaching a reasonable speed or right after hitting respawn. The most aggravating has to be an EMP attack that causes the car to shut down or shows an error message over the screen, preventing you from seeing the road. While it is possible to evade it by quickly driving left and right, you are usually dealing with multiple attacks at the same time. All this showed me the game punishes you for being good and racing ahead of everyone. You’re either continually targeted or run into glitches. Nothing is safe. One time I drove over the boost stripes on the ground that sent me flying across the map. Next time the car hit an invisible wall. On the begginer difficulty setting, I couldn't win a single race. Despite the fact that the other two difficulties must be unlocked, I am certain that it only adds to the frustration. Because everything is locked behind milestones, you're forced into a tedious slog in which you must replay and win the same tracks hundreds of times in order to unlock something useful. Because winning may not necessarily depend on your driving abilities, the first unlockable will probably be a car that is rewarded for completing 200 races. The fact that you have to play with the default settings and compete in four-race tournaments turns the entire progression into a grind.
Parabéns pelo empenho, mas é injogável.
