Honestly, I wanted to like this, and I gave it a fair number of hours, but at 6 hours and just over half the achievements unachieved, I can't recommend it. It's a very straightforward incremental that leverages hovering instead of clicking, but the stage intervals are fixed and you're forced to prestige when the game decides you should. Normally, that would be fine, but the potential pool of upgrades when you prestige is just so incredibly lackluster as to not be worth it. You start over at the beginning with a marginally useful improvement (regardless of which of the 3 choices you take. None of them will make a meaningful difference. in your playthrough speed or make you feel like there's a big power jump.) The achievements I don't have are all centered around playing this game for a long time, except there's no reason to play this game for a long time, it doesn't get interesting. I'm just one guy so who cares about my opinion, but I thought I'd offer it.
Holding Pattern is pretty minimalistic in its design which actually just aids it. Yes, it's another incremental skill-tree game but the skills are much more meaningful in terms of their effects at the cost of them being harder to acquire, and the ascensions grant you cool moons with a ton of neat effects (and more skills to invest money into). There's also a roguelike mode that works surprisingly well for quick rounds of fun! Beyond that, I found the DIY soundscape super charming and adorable. Big recommendation!
This is not a complex game. The game loop is simple, and strategy is minimal. What Holding Pattern is is satisfying. Blow stuff up, get blown up, get stronger, try again. The pacing is nearly perfect. I expect to be caught in this Holding Pattern (see what I did there?) for a very, very long time.
Short but Sweet. Incremental Mode is basically the campaign sadly when finished save gets deleted. So be ready for that. Endless Mods gets ridiculous fast and is what i like about the game most so far. Have not yet tried rouge-like. Speed Multi of 2 is still a bit slow for my taste, Standard speed is really slow. What is bad for me, but good for people that want a more relaxed experience or can not react as fast for whatever reason. Overall a good game if on the slower side for a incremantel.
i really love this game i would recommend it to ever one it don't have any bugs that i know of and i have played it hours, and i can't wait for more game content also it would help if you did join the discord they're really nice ;)
Relaxing incremental/roguelike which actually has many different variations of abilities/skills you can get rather than generic upgrades on raw stats. Different builds allow for lots of replayability, and I like the fact that some upgrades actually cause negative effects as well. Would recommend!
A surprisingly addictive and interesting incremental. Prestiging feels quite unique; at the last "wave" you have a boss fight and then get a moon that orbits your planet and provides some kind of benefit. Then you automatically prestige. So instead of having to choose between progressing farther or prestiging, prestiging is just a normal sequence of gameplay. Has a relaxing soundtrack and some choices to be made in the perk tree. Worth taking a look at!
Addictive in its simplicity. Great timespender!
Great game, I love making the numbers go up...I need more money for more power!
