I Like Hogwarts Legacy
No arachnophobia mode makes this unplayable.
Hogwarts Legacy is a dream come true for any Harry Potter fan. It perfectly captures the magic, mystery, and nostalgia of the wizarding world while delivering a completely fresh and compelling story set in the late 1800s.

Juego hecho con demasiado cariño. Tiene algún puzle fastidioso, pero por lo demás es perfecto para un fan de Harry el sucio Potter.
Hogwarts Legacy Review — A beautiful wizarding world that struggles to keep the magic alive
I went into Hogwarts Legacy expecting a great adventure, and the first hours honestly delivered. Creating potions, attending classes, learning spells, and exploring Hogwarts for the first time felt genuinely exciting. The game does an amazing job of creating that first magical feeling of finally being part of the wizarding world. However, after spending more time with it, I started to feel that the magic was slowly fading.

✨ The Good
Combat is probably one of the strongest parts of the game. Duels feel satisfying, spells look incredible, and the visual effects make you really feel like a powerful wizard. Unlocking new abilities and becoming stronger was one of the main things that kept me playing. Flying around on a broom is also a great experience, and exploring the world from above is one of the best parts of the game. The world itself is beautiful. Hogwarts, the surrounding areas, and the overall art direction are extremely well done. The castle gives you that feeling of walking through a place you've imagined for years. Attending classes and interacting with professors were some of my favorite moments because those are the parts where the game feels the most like a true Hogwarts experience.

📖 The Story and Characters
This is where the game didn't fully work for me. I am a player who is mainly driven by the story. If a game has a strong narrative and keeps me emotionally invested, I can spend countless hours playing it. Unfortunately, Hogwarts Legacy didn't manage to achieve that. The story and characters are interesting, especially if you are already a Harry Potter fan, but I didn't feel enough attachment to continue until the end. The dialogue choices are also a little disappointing. You can choose different responses, but it often feels like the overall story will continue in the same direction regardless of your decisions.

🌎 Exploration and Progression
The quests are not necessarily repetitive, but many of them have a similar feeling. At first, exploring Hogwarts feels magical, but after a while it becomes less about discovery and more about completing tasks. Some quests require a lot of searching around the huge castle, and sometimes it became frustrating rather than rewarding. There were moments where I had to spend a lot of time looking for something just to continue the main progression. The RPG elements are fun, but they have some strange moments. You can become an incredibly powerful wizard while your character looks like they bought random clothes from a thrift store. :D The customization options are nice, but the connection between your appearance, equipment, and power level doesn't always feel natural.

⚔️ Combat and Visuals
The combat is genuinely fun. Spell combinations, effects, and animations make fights feel powerful and cinematic. The graphics are also very impressive. The game doesn't aim for complete photorealism, but the visuals are beautiful and the art direction is one of its biggest strengths.

⚙️ Performance Issues (PC)
I played on PC with a Ryzen 7 4800H and RTX 3050 Ti, using an Xbox controller. Despite my system seeming capable of running the game, I experienced freezing, FPS drops, and stuttering. The game could take several minutes to properly start, and sometimes it ran fine while other times it struggled. I didn't personally encounter major bugs, but the inconsistent performance definitely affected the experience.

Final Thoughts
Overall, I think Hogwarts Legacy is a good game, especially for Harry Potter fans who have always wanted to experience Hogwarts themselves. It succeeds at creating the fantasy:

Attending classes
Learning spells
Choosing a house
Exploring Hogwarts
Becoming a wizard
But for me, the story wasn't strong enough to keep me invested until the end. I would recommend buying it, but personally I would wait for a sale. It is a beautiful and enjoyable experience, but even some Harry Potter fans I know eventually stopped playing because the excitement didn't last forever. A great Hogwarts experience, but not a perfect adventure.
