Hogs of War

I will preface this now. This title is a must play from the classic library of bygone games from a very forgotten era. On any normal day, I would absolutely recommend this game to just about anybody who loves turn based strategy games. Especially anthro games, or even war games too. But this game just plain and simply does not work. And from what I've seen in other reviews, the means and methods of trying to make this game work anyways, it not just difficult, but it's a tedious process to just get something like this to emulate half heartedly. And well, as someone who has tried to go through this method themselves, you have to go through a French website if I am not mistaken, and well, just a whole lot of this stuff kind of gets lost on me in trying to set it up when I am just really desperately wanting to play the game myself. The upside to buying and downloading this though is that you can actually get access to the files themselves for the game too. Which includes but isn't limited to the original manual as a PDF. Which ironically tells you that you actually hold no legal right or ownership over the game's files itself even if you paid for it. Lol Anyways, like Sheep, Glover, and so, so many more this has just become yet another Steam Port that just not only has the game botched in terms and regards of play, but just getting to the point of it basically becoming completely if not entirely unplayable. And of course it's a classic game that is really hard to come by physically. So in short, would I recommend this game? Yes. Would I recommend buying this game on Steam? Hell, no! Alternative Software Ltd. I would like it if you could in the future actually make your products playable. Because as a consumer this is very frustrating, and I'd rather this of been delisted instead of it not working at all. Because $5.30 for something that straight up doesn't work, isn't worth the money. Even on sale when it's worth around a dollar at the very most.
