Hockey Legacy Manager 26

I usually do NHL 26 in franchise mode, but this game has a way better interface and overall mode, especially sim speed, than nhl 26. If you like franchise mode but don't want to support ea and their crappy game play this instead

So, first things first: For $11 CDN, this game is a spectacular bargain. It's a wonderful simulator and you can have hours and hours of fun with it. At review time, I think I put in 33 hours since purchasing the game 6 days ago. That's how addictive it is. [b]What's Amazing[/b] The simulations are deep and rich. You can play hundreds of teams across different organizations with highly customizable rules and freedom of choice. You can play as a general manager trying to keep your job and guide your team to glory, or just play as God and make an All Star team. [b]What's Good[/b] While the NHL teams and players aren't in the game, you can download community resource packs that set current rosters, names and logos. You can also add real hot prospects and international players. It just makes the game that much richer. [b]What needs work[/b] The game is heavily RNG (random-number generated) and some of it feels a bit unpolished. f you sim the same game several times you can have wildly different scores. Generally, you feel like the best team wins but often that isn't the case. When you're playing for a playoff spot and RNG has you lose to the last place team (it happens in real life, I'll admit) it really is a tough pill to swallow. All in all, this game is huge bargain for a lot of gameplay. Look forward to seeing its continued development/new versions.

[h2] Trading and AI issues hold it back [/h2] The price is good, but there's some fundamental issues regarding trading and the AI as a whole that made me not want to play past the first completed seaosn. [h3] AI Cap Compliance [/h3] The offseason produced a number of trade offers from AI teams, but I couldn't accept them as...the AI team would still be over the cap. I'm not sure why a team $10 million over the cap can't trade an $8 million player for my $900,000 prospect + picks, but it quickly became frustrating. I assume that either the AI can only trade with other AI teams to get around this, or they simply don't need to be cap compliant. [h3] Trading is too Easy [/h3] It's a fundamental problem with a lot of these types of games, but at the end of the first season my Habs team had, without getting rid of any of the core, added: - Connor Bedard, Michael Misa, Spencer Knight, Alex Ovehkin, Evengi Malkin + another 81+ rated prospect I can't remember the name of I even had the following picks: - 2026 1st (Carolina), 2x 2027 1st, 2028 1st + muiltiple picks in the other rounds each year (3x 2026 2nd, etc.) [h3] The AI seems to know when players are going to retire (you don't) / player feedback isn't accurate [/h3] After trading for Ovehkin and Malkin at the trade-deadline (for pennies) I signed them both to long-term extensions. They then immediately retired after the season ended. My immediate thoughts were: - There's a feedback system to indicate how much a player wants to sign a specific dollar amount + term, so I'm not sure why both indicated tehy had "high interest" and then signed if they intended to retire - Is this why I got two franchise players rated 88+ for nothing? Did the AI know they were about to retire and wanted to recoup something?

Absolutely love this game. Super good interface and very addicting. Couple things i hope for in the future would be slightly more in depth sims, like 5 on 3 PP's, 4 on 4 etc. Also would be awesome if it kept track of more stats like PPP. Another thing that i think would be cool: On a players card/profile, if you could click on a trade that the player was involved in, it would take you to see exactly what that trade was.

A decent simulator but a disapointingly shallow UI and stats organizing sytem. Very basic player search, can't search by stats/characteristics. Can't go to next player in player lists, have to click out and in to each player. No keyboard customizations, so you're constantly clicking the small "back" in upper left and can't change that, just a few examples. Good team builder, and you can live with the UI if you accept that it will stay a rather shallow analysis.

HLM27 waiting room

Solid NHL SIM!! Need better stats for players like skating speed, acceleration, agressivity, endurence. Also 2 way contracts and team strategies. But honestly looking forward to the 27 version great job on making a good hockey sim since EA are a bunch of money grabbers.

For the price of this game, if you like hockey manager games this is a great game. I would without a doubt recommend this game. It is a tad barebones compared to the pricey Franchise Hockey Manager, but it's a fun team building game. I would like to see a UDFA tab in free agency or even buttons to go back and forth between players. Outside of that I really enjoy the team building aspect, I love watching random players gain 15+ overalls in an offseason.
