If you're a student of history, and have a few bucks to spare, I'd recommend this despite it not being totally polished. I got a sense of the place and the time, and a few visualized facts that made the experience worth it for me. I would have liked the story mode to be one continuous boat ride through the canal, with more characters to watch, a bit of intrigue even. Still though I liked it and hope we get a lot more of these soon.
Awesome! History lessons via VR. The graphics and movement are great and you really caught me off-gaurd with the opening scene. Very enjoyable. This is a great way to experience history and have the knowledge stay with you. Very nicely done. More please. :-)
Very nicely done. Especially for me because I know Bruges very well. This is definitely the future of history lessons. App works fine. Just a pitty that it's so short. You pay 14,99 for a 10min history lesson.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FK56mbuqapg One of the most amazing VR experiences I have had, I truly wish it was longer and more indepth. Really shows the power of VR and where it can be used for learning and education. The only negatives are the price and the length, it's clear these guys are talented. I wish they would do a longer experience of YOrk in england. Showing the digs, the history and the wonders of the city. If it goes on sale... get it.
Currently, history VR like this is probably the closest we can come to feeling like we are going back in time. I hope for more educational experiences like this. The textures and scenery in this are nice. For this price, I feel it should be longer with more content. By the way, that barge captain is a giant. :D
For some reason, I didn't expect too much of this title, but being from Belgium, I just had to give it a try. Well, it turned out to be a very immersive and beautiful experience and I only wish it had more content. I might have paid more attention to the history classes, back in school, if they would have had VR back in those days.
Cool little experience. The visuals are impressive with lots of detail. The lighting and shadows look great and I like the night time setting. The narrator gives a great lesson on the city too. The scale of the boat guide dude was a little too big though. For the price it's a tad short. I can tell a lot of work probably went into the game but unfortunately people's expectations for VR are only going higher and higher each day. I mention that in my overview below. Somewhere under $10 will probably have a lot more people at least trying the game. My overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07ZY_8OJmUE
Get it for $5 for less. Too short to justify any price above that.
I thought the "game" was ok for $8. What I couldn't understand was the narrator pronouncing Bruges as "Brew-jess". I've always heard it pronounced "Broozh". The internet says this is correct also, so it must be true.
This experience (I have no better word for it) was one of the things that inspired me to get a Samsung Mixed Reality headset. (I was very reluctant as I was concerned with motion sickness, but have felt no ill effects, FYI...) All I can say is that while very short, this is an absolutely amazing experience (there I go again)! I love historical games and this is like a dream come true to be so immersed in a historical environment like this! I only hope that some day soon, there will be full games made like this that very interactive! This is mind boggling!
