About
Hextones: Spacetime continues the addicting puzzle challenge from its predecessor. Connect the Hextones and jump on a journey through Spacetime! An even more challenging matchup puzzle with time mechanics. Explore three new Hexgrids through three game modes, including a Hardcore for those with a strong heart and a Relax mode with cool music!
Spacetime: Be fast before the current Hextone goes to the end of the queue.
Hardcore: If you lose your time to place an Hextone, it will be destroyed forever.
Relax: No time pressure, just play like the first Hextones game, with relaxing music.
There are 25 unique Hextones formed by a combination of colors and symbols, and a total of 100 Hextones to be placed onto the grid.

Place the Hextone onto the grid by connecting one or more of its edges to one or more Hextones already placed on the grid.
As more connections in a move, more points, but don't forget to complete the current Tier to increase the connections bonus.

NEW: Now you can see the next three Hextones, and swap between them before placing.

NEW: Hextones are unstable during this journey, if don't play any Hextones during the available time, it vanishes to return back later.

NEW Time Freeze mechanic: Complete a Tier or a six-edges connection to earn a Time Freeze usage, and then slow down the Spacetime to have more time to think in your strategy.

Reviews
Hextones: Spacetime is a mobile app tier block placement game where you're given a hex grid and a bunch of hexagons that you need to carefully place, trying to match colours and symbols. Yeah, it's extremely shallow. Apparently if you match enough, you can travel through space. I certainly wanted to get off the planet after playing this rubbish. It's also worth pointing out the developer has already published this game on Steam as "Hextones"... it's unclear why they published the same game twice, but the presence of review manipulation also raises some deep concerns about this game from an unethical Brazilian shovelware pusher. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy minimalist/untextured low-polygon "retro" assets and visuals, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the early 1990s. The lack of textures is a method that lazy devs often use to disguise their lack of talent/interest in doing the graphics properly and trying to disguise it under the name of "art", or "We made it look bad on purpose", which really isn't something gamers should have to put up with. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the game. It looks bad as a result of their decisions, and that's just another reason to avoid it. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just iPhone screen tapping stuff. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but it doesn't seem to have made it to the app stores. It's unclear why this was put on Steam instead of the app stores it seems to have been designed for. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes Hextones: Spacetime might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players, and the worst part is these weren't genuine players, these were the Russian fake review accounts that the developer paid to make the fake reviews. Since the fake reviews are all done, now the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
Warning: Review Manipulation!
This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Hextones: Spacetime is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 11,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Edit: It should be noted the developer is highly toxic and unethical, stole the trademark from a game created a year prior and filed a trademark claim on it and is now trying to attack other developers on Steam for using the trademark he stole. This is legally indefensible because there's prior art of the stolen trademark being used by the original creator... but gamers should know when a developer acts in illegal and deliberately malicious ways.
Futuristic theme puzzle + 3 modes + $2 = Simple but challenging puzzle to get highest score. Spacetime, hardcore and relax game modes. 1 round takes about 5 minutes or less.
Follow our curator for similar games
The developer decided to be a copyright troll. They somehow got a retroactive trademark registered, bullying other developers into changing names of their games. As this hits indie developers, most won't have the money to fight this. Those who don't get the message in time face to be delisted. So I want to thank Nukearts, the devloper of this game, to make it easier to safe money and not support them in the future. I don't support companies and people making the world an even worse place as it already is.
Works on Windows 7 and on Linux Mint (using Proton Compatibility Mode)! What can I say.... it's a game where you have to match pieces up. Same color or symbols have to be next to each other. Mostly it's a no-brainer, but it does take a little thought an planning. I like to play this one when I just wanna vege out. Price is decent ($1.99). Soundtrack is awesome....I actually got it for that more than anything. I cant say much more than that. Hope it helps.
- Great logic/puzzle game. Smooth and speed at the same time. Difficulty is progressive and gameplay is never boring. Overall graphic theme and music make it more attractive. You just have to connect hexagon pieces according to their color or symbol. You have a fixed time to achieve the task. You can also play without the time limit function. So everyone can play the game without speed stress. Give it a try ! -
The second game is much more challenging and fun! The futuristic robot and the new game modes are really cool,
why did they make another one
Really nice game!!! I loved the way you dressed a really simple and great puzzle into a nice thematic. I liked the time pressure! Recommended
This game is so much better than the first one! The stellar archive is very cool and the soundtrack is awesome! The new time mechanic is no joke, you need to think fast, but the freeze time and swap commands help you get through it. The new options of hexgrids changed everything and the hardcore mode is for pros, but the classic, soothing mode is there too for the oldschoolers. Congratulations Nukearts! Keep up the good job!
