Heroes Rise: The Hero Project

After having 'played' through the Heroes Rise series several times over, I can only describe it, and this installment, as painfully mediocre. Sergi's writing might be adequate for a high-school audience, but if you've matured past that stage it leaves much to be desired.

Narcissism, focus on popularity, fame and a reality tv show even if you choose the justice path, imperfect handling of choosing a new game. The game just assumes homosexuality now rather than asking orientation and I have not used the save game feature from the first game due to the email and potential data harvesting with the dev. Everything is so vain, popularity centered and recycles the big names from the first iteration that I cared little about. This game is mostly about being a celebrity, and how to handle the public's opinion of being some kind of chosen one with powers that threaten the status quo. Maybe this is the kind of story that would appeal to many but personally it leaves me feeling dead inside. I gave it a chance read in diagonal and made the usual heroic, isolationist choices I would have made in the first game, but instead of things going wrong but me still being able to power through this sequel just failed me becuase for some reason I did not make it through the season of SuperHero survivor. I realized by then that my level of investment was just too low to really bother. I thought this would be heavilty politically influenced with the mayor sub-plot from the first game but that seems to come in only in drip fed small amounts. Conclusion: If fame and political intrigue swapped places with each other I might have soldiered on. With heavy emphasis on some underhanded power struggle from the mayor the decent writing of the author would have kept me on-board,even despite all the other flaws. Unfortunately this probably caters to a different audience. Removed local content and moved permanently to hidden library for declutter. Will check third iteration of franchise next but my expectations are set very low by now.

I dont like this game despite its good writing for two reasons: 1. It takes place in a trashy reality-show and thats exactly what happens. Fights, manifactured tension, nosensical threads and reactions from npcs because of your choices. It also leads to a much more streamlined game that limits your ability to choose. 2. Destroying the cartasis from the end of the last game, making a majority of the villians untouchable and going the "everyone dumps on the protagonist" route moves this towards a sadist show. Unless you play as the pollyanna, you wount have a good time.

This is a sequel, I didn't know that until I had bought the sequel and spin off series in its entirety. Regardless of the huge lore drop at the start I experienced, this and the rest of the series is great. Your character's main adversaries, and the other characters no doubt had lots of banter and relationship building in the previous game but even without it these characters are some of the best I have seen. Each has their own opinions and goals, they actually feel like people, and the overall premise is believable. This was my favorite series of the ones I have purchased from these devs and the whole series really is my favorite. Enjoy :)

This one started off slow, but when you really get into the hero project it really picks up. This is about you learning to work in a team or even become a leader. It's like you're a member of the Avengers or X-Men. Go on missions with different teams of heroes. Nothing ever goes smooth, each mission is unique and really tests your ability to problem solve under stressful situations. Pros: -More stats. -Everything you do while competing in the Hero Project. Interesting, intriguing, surprising, just so well written and engaging. -Interesting alliances and character dynamics. Surprise and multiple defections. -Having new, unstable, and untested powers really gave you another layer to consider. Not only how you use them, but how you interact with normals, powereds, and infini-powereds. -Continuing your relationships from the first game. -Better defined powers. -This game was a bit more grounded than the first game, which I think is an improvement. -Characters are well defined and memorable. And there's alot of characters. -The roster is crazy! Very diverse group of heroes, different backgrounds and personal agendas. Avengers and X-Men comics could learn alot from this. -The banter between my team on 2nd mission was my favorite part of the game. -Interesting twist at the end and different options. The one I chose lead to a sweet battle where I applied what I had learned. Very satisfying. -Longer than 1st game. -Epilogue at the end really blew me away, never would have guessed. Cons: -Pacing was really off compared to 1st game. The 1st game revealed things as you progressed or as was necessary. This game just throws pages of information at you. -Wanted more conversations with the other finalists, you know what outcome they want but not what drives them. -There is a character who is faking their powers, this was unnecessary and didn't add anything to the story. I think this actually hurts the story going forward. -I was surprised how little the anti-powered sentiment stat mattered. It was really low for most of the game, then just shot up because that's what the story demanded. -It does kinda force you to pick one alliance or the other. It would be difficult to do, but I really wanted a middle or united option. -No spoilers. At the end of the game there's a huge summary of everything that happened. This was really unnecessary. Would have preferred alt options or more time with characters.

I didn't like this quite as much as the last game, but it was still worth playing. Rating of 3/5 for me. I just wasn't a huge fan of the 'reality TV' setup. That said, I still enjoyed the game and game 3 was worth playing into for me (as it was also an improvement on this game).

SUBLIME ! C'est immédiatement après avoir terminé le très bon Heroes Rise: The Prodigy, que je me suis lancé dans ce second opus. Et mon Dieu qu'il est bon, mais qu'il est bon ! Environ une dizaine d'heures pour en venir à bout, étant pourtant aussi bien un très grand joueur qu'un très grand lecteur, j'ai rarement, voir jamais, autant été imergé dans une histoire . Un récit d'une magnifique narration, après le premier épisode, celui çi se concentre sur une télé réalité version super Heros, et il n'y a rien à redire, entre pérépities, phases de combat, développement des relations avec les autres personnages auquels on s'attache énormément, complots, des mysteres des révélations progressives, tout y est. Sans oublier le plus important, DES CHOIX, Mon Dieu, on se croirais dans un Dragon Age ou un Mass Effect avec de réel choix Noir ou Blanc à conséquences. Conséquences qui pour la plupart vous propulse vers une toute autre branche de l'histoire selon ce que j'ai pu voir . Plusieurs histoires pour plusieurs fins. Surement pour l'instant l'un des meilleurs Choice of Games/Hosted Game que j'ai pu faire avec le magique "Choices of Robot". Je ne peux que le recommander, et avec ce cliffhanger final digne d'un final de saison de The Walking Dead, je m'empresse de me faire le troisième et dernier opus de cette trilogie !

I really enjoyed this game. Yeah it does have pictures and graphics. But all you need is you own imagination to make this epic. I recommend it.
