9/10 would romance a necklace again
Overall i think the story was pretty good! It was really enjoyable finding out all the mysteries. Some characters i particularly disliked but i grew to like the others overtime. Being stat checked for dialogue options is a big meh, i had to cheat stats so i wouldnt sound like a bumbling fool. It gets pretty demoralizing to get punished so often for something so trivial. Without going too much into spoilers, i was pretty annoyed with one particular character who kept on expecting me to follow their orders without telling me anything. Though the way i got back at them in the end was pretty cathartic so it was still pretty nice. Played this a long time ago so my memory might be a bit shoddy but compared to the other choose your own adventure games i played this one was one of the better ones. Not one of the best but thats a pretty high bar to clear.

Overall, I do feel this is a decent game. The replayability, IMO, is a bit limited, but it also isn't as bad as it could be. Ability to restart chapters and go back to a previous chapter is NICE, and for the most part, I enjoyed how the story was laid out and written. I think my personal biggest gripe is that the relationships, friendships and romance both, don't seem to be explored very well at all. Descriptions for appearance, as well as the ability to choose our own, are EXTREMELY limited...but this is another minor thing I'm just used to in COG products. It's still a pretty good game/story with obvious fantasy elements. I'd love to see a part 2 of some kind to tie up loose ends and expand more with the relationships and potential fallouts of choices.
There's something that could be here, but I did not find it, lots of reviews are showing people love this and so I gotta chalk it up to personal preference. I have reverse tried out this authors three novels and you can tell she improved if this was the start, but wasn't the best. Had to return when I realized I kept doomscrolling and not noticing I had stopped playing.
i dont like the characters. none of them. i feel no immersion. and it feels like my own character is pretty ineffectual.
It's an amazing game and I like it! Finished it in 2 days and it says a lot about it :) It reminded me of Infinity series (Sabres, Guns, Lords) so if you like those this one is likely your cup of tea too!
Great storyline with original premise and interesting characters. You could see some political bias in the writing, coupled with a bit childish writing at times, but it definatly should not be enough to put you away from this game. It's a great experience and absolutely worth a play, reccommend!
I've played a couple of other Choice of Games games and I can see why this one is their best seller, it's by far the best written and most expansive of their games. If you like interactive novels, this is the best of them on Steam.
A long and thoughtful story. It was real intriguing how things went and how to keep confident in your choices. I will admit, personally, the beginning took some trudging through, but everything came together so well in the end.
