From the moment you land as one of the dragon-bound Dragon-Souls in Heroes of Mount Dragon, it’s clear this game breathes heart. The hand-drawn 2D style brought to life in 3D is gorgeous, and transforming mid-battle into a dragon form is genuinely thrilling. Combat is accessible yet satisfying — combos flow well, dragon abilities bring fiery spectacle, and couch or online co-op up to four players is a riot. And let’s not forget the playful curses that’ll shrink or flip your co-op pals at the worst times — pure chaos energy done right. But it’s not perfect yet. Level and enemy variety lean into repetition pretty fast, and some finicky mechanics (like strict vertical alignment needed for hits) can trip you up. Visually and tonally, it shines. Just hoping future content and tweaks help it really soar. Worth a shot if you love nostalgic squad brawlers and dragon-morphing mayhem.

When played in local co-op with kids / fans on the Mount Dragon books, the game can definitely have some good moments; my nephew loves turning into a dragon every time! If devs can hit their dev targets (There's still 3 heroes to be added as of right now), It could become one of the best options for couch co-op beat 'em up with kids on Steam.

Enemies are too braindead to warrant any critical thought, RPG mechanics feel like an afterthought, story is really heavy on meta-jokes for no apparent reason.

This game was amazing I enjoyed every minute of playing it. The game reminds me of an old arcade game like golden axe. There is a wonderful story and some comedy tossed in to keep you entertained for hours. I'm looking forward to the full release of this game and to see the other characters and their stories.

Nice little side-scroller beat'em up. The blend of 2D art and 3D characters looks very good, even if it takes a little while to adapt to the mixed perspective. The 4 playable characters are very distinctive which is welcome change from other game in the genre where the characters share a lot of the same moves. Moving and fighting is fluid and satisfying, but attacking from range can sometime be a bit tough. Transforming into a dragon to blast off enemies is pretty rewarding, i never tired of using it. I've gone through the adventure mode and a couple of games in the other game modes with a friend. The adventure mode has dialogs, cutscenes and a fully voiced narrator which is pretty neat. Now the game is not perfect, there are elements that could be improved. The enemy variety is on the low side, with some reused 'recolored' enemies that only slightly changes in term of behaviour. Adding a few more of them would help keeping things fresh. More destructible items would be great,since there seems to only be crates and rocks to break in the game currently. Give me a explosive barrel, a gate to smash through or anything else! Some bosses are also quite spongy, taking a long time before going down which make them a chore to beat. All in all, it's a fun, easy to pick up, couch coop game that has plenty of charm and a lot of potential.
