By changing your cards’ suits or values you can continually improve your chances of drawing powerful poker-hands, which trigger devastating combo-effects.
As you traverse the worldmap, discover relics, enchantments, consumable items, and expansions for your character’s natural class-abilities. Different discoveries and strategies will yield explosive synergies. At the same time, your inner poker-shark will feast!

Nope. Game was fun until Act 3. Act 3 has a fight with a Magma Golem. The Magma Golem starts with 1300 HP. That's 100 HP shy of twice the HP Act 2 Demon boss has. And more than four times the HP of the Gargoyle boss that can also be in Act 2. (You can see both bosses in the gameplay trailer on this very page) He also has a status effect that starts at '5' and ticks down every turn. When it hits 0, he does half his remaining HP as damage. Bear in mind; The player BARELY has health in the 100 range. IF they get lucky with some HP ups. So if you want to Survive, you need to drop him to around 100 HP. That's 1200 damage in 5 turns. Or 240 damage a turn. In a game where your attacks can be things like 'Needs 2 red cards' or 'Needs 2 Hearts' or 'Needs a pair'. Meaning you won't always be able to attack. Or have set numbers instead of working off the card values. And have limited uses a turn. Oh, and he will attack you. Frequently for 40+ damage. So you still have to use cards to generate a large amount of Block, else your HP will be lower when he eventually explodes. So you're not always doing full damage, or ANY damage, in a round. And he will generate Block on some turns. So you're not always doing full damage in a round. You CAN block the damage, as it does not go through Block. But that requires drawing cards on Turn 5 that generate Block. Which, depending on your build, can be easier or harder, and that said Block skills can be limited-use-per-turn. Or set values instead of working off card values. So he's basically a hard, arbitrary DPS check on a tanky mob that essentially insta-kills you if you can't reliably generate 40+ Block and 240+ damage every turn for 5 turns. It's too bad he's conveniently in Act 3, which, barring a good run early, means you run into him outside the 2 hour refund window.
Fun roguelike game with a poker twist. Takes elements from Slay the Spire and poker card games. You have 5 abilities and they are played used cards in your hand. After winning a fight, you get various rewards including gold, new cards, and sometimes consumables. There are 3 acts with a final boss for each act. Fourth act has a final boss that can be unlocked by meeting certain conditions.
Pros:
- 3 characters to try with different play styles - tank, mage, and druid. - Progression is available in terms of unlocking new abilities for each character and new relics. - This is a forgiving game since you can restart any battle including bosses. No "save scumming" needed. - Based on Steam page, this game is Steam deck compatible.
Cons:
- 1 enemy debuff in act 3 was annoying to play against. There is a 30% chance to lose a card when drawn. That was the only enemy that I felt was inherently unfair. - Healing offered is too low (about 20%) and is usually only picked if you need more health to get pass the boss. Choosing the other option will offer a consumable (usually not worth it) or a new card with enchantments. - Act 3 fights tend to drag out. Enemies have over 400 health and player blocks damage until you accumulate enough damage from your abilities to kill them.
Suggestions:
- Add endless mode for more variety after beating the four acts. I was not interested in trying the inferno mode, which adds modifiers for more difficulty. - Add collect all rewards so player does not need to click each reward. - Add more starting relics for each character. After reaching level 3, there were only 3 more to try out. Conclusion: Fun card game that mixes poker with roguelike. 3 Characters to try out with different playstyle. My main suggestion is to add more endgame content besides the inferno mode. You can easily get 5-10 hours of playtime. If you like games like Slay the Spire and Dicey Dungeon, try the demo. Its very good if you are fan of deck builders and slay the spire. I see a few reviewers making comparisons or referencing Balatro. It is absolutely nothing like Balatro in any way. The only similarity is playing cards, but they don't work in anywhere near the same way they do in Balatro. The only similarity between this and Balatro is that there are playing cards. That's where the similarity ends. Slay the spire is the closest comparison. This game is essentially Slay the Spire but with enough difference in the mechanics for it to feel fresh. If you have played StS, you will not need anything explaining to you in this game. I grabbed it on sale and don't regret it.
lame. Not enough content, what little there is is executed quite poorly. Sometimes you get crazy runs, but most of the time you are just wondering why your character sucks. Not enough use of the card mechanics.
Saw Kripp on twitch playing and loved it. You will enjoy the game! Game runs really well on steam deck with track pad. Well worth it.
yup
Small, short, but interesting. I enjoyed my time with the game.
Surprisingly good game. I've been playing it instead of STS2 since I discovered it. I hope it gets more traction because it would benefit from more content.
