I played the game a lot during the playtest and I just really like it. If you have an idea for a build, there are plenty of items and dice to help you bring it to life. The enemies can be pretty tough, especially ones like the snakes that try to poison you. I’d still like to see better support for the Steam Deck. The game is playable with the touchscreen and with the Steam Deck setting that uses the trackpad as a mouse, but dedicated controls for the Deck would be nice! Although it’s listed as being for Windows only, it runs flawlessly on my Linux Mint system thanks to Steam’s built-in Proton support.
Don't let the graphics mislead you, there's a lot of depth to this little game. For a variation of a roguelike deck-building formula it has a few elements that really stand out. Things like focus and hero's spells, which really minimize the feeling of wasted dice rolls. It has some flaws, like heavy RNG demanding moments in later chaos stages and minor bugs here and there but the developer is very responsive and fixes issues almost immediately. For this price? I'd say it's a steal.
I've played the demo and the playtest a lot, and I really love this game. It's perfect for people who enjoy “Slay the Spire” and “Slice & Dice.” It's also a lot of fun to play on the Steam Deck, even though it isn't fully supported yet.
Played the demo and playtest previously. This is a very solid game. Clean design, interesting enemies, tight decisions, and cursed RNG. I can see it getting into my personal top 5 of digital dice games (the other 4 would be Slice and Dice, Die for the Lich, Spell Rogue and Dicey Dungeons).
Works great on the Deck with trackpad mouse. This isn't reinventing the wheel or creating anything groundbreaking but is very well balanced for a dicey deckbuilder. I bought it on a whim after beating the demo and accidentally put five hours into it on my first playthrough and am back for more the day after, so good bang for buck here.
A very fun game! I like it very much, a solid variety of strategies in terms of deck/item combinations are possible and good content to explore. Fantastic work!
This is a really fun game
I've only played Dice Card Heroes a few times so far, but it immediately grabbed me. The gameplay is varied and ensures that every round is different. I especially like that you can develop your character individually by finding and equipping better dice. This makes every step forward feel tangible. Despite my limited playing time, the game is really fun and definitely motivates me to keep starting new rounds to unlock even more characters. I highly recommend it to fans of strategic roguelike and deck-building games.
A great game! I really love it :)
