I'm liking this game so far. I've played quite a few RPG Maker games and have dabbled in making my own a little. The first thing that impressed me was the character creation, simple to some perhaps, but I liked it. Credit where its due! *I have played just over an hour, I may add on to this at a later stage..* The world has a lot of flavour to it, while some might find that bland I find it interesting. After playing games like Skyrim and Dragon Age the lore of a world can really draw you in. Dark Gaia did have a lot of history behind this game seeing as it is the third in the Legionwood series but regardless, some of it is well worth the read. (It has no relation to previous games bar the infrequent references.) The talents and techs your character can learn deserve a mention as well, they vary quite a bit and give a lot of choice, which is always, always a good thing. When talking to certain NPCs you are given four options which will dictate how you respond to an NPCs request/comment ranging from 'courageous' to 'serious' to 'casual' to 'snide'. I would do the whole -choose option and load a previous save- just to see the options, wasn't disappointed! All in all its a decent game, (bar some rather appauling bugs which hopefully will be patched out at some point heres hoping), as RPG Maker games go it is among the better ones. (To be updated :^) )
I don't know if I can honestly recommend this game. There is a lot of running back and forth and it becomes tedious rather quickly. A bit of warping would be nice. Also maybe having the relationships be gender free instead of having two as gender free and two as gender tied (based on comments, two are gender free and two are tied to gender). Also, the no cliffhangers is somewhat not true. Episode 1 ends in somewhat of a cliffhanger. Maybe not a major cliffhanger, but still a cliffhanger. The game becomes somewhat tedious after a while (pushing an object halfway across the map one square at a time didn't help). This is made worse by the slow world map movement speed. A faster speed and potentially some cleared area skipping would have helped (as in have an option to bypass an area that you've cleared or enter). There is also little to no warning for the point of no return so it can be potentially frustrating for anyone who reached that point without meaning to. Honestly, this game was somewhere between a recommend and a not recommend, but as there are only those two options, I went with the more truthful option.

As far as RPG maker games go, this one has a special place in my heart. One that I enjoy the most. It's charming on its own way, very compact and satisfying. Doesn't seem to try to go too far from what it can actually do. I've only played the first episode so this might not be true for the second. For me, the pros are: >Combat, unlike many of its genre, feels interesting enough to keep me playing for quite some time. Even though it relies on random encounters (which can be avoided if you're fast enough), it doesn't feel irritating. I like how characters compliment each other with their abilities. >Character customization, the passive skills are interesting and useful. >Soundtrack is very fitting. >Although the plot is generic, I enjoy the interaction between characters. And the cons: >Some NPCs have their walk cycles set to random and will sometimes block your path, since the mapping is very small and often you only have a single tile to walk through. >May seem too difficult at first, some classes are clearly better at the start than others. >Experience gain is very slow. I've got to about level 15 in 5 hours which makes the game kind of static. For its price (got it on sale) it feels competent enough if you enjoy the genre.
Excellent game, and it gets a huge plus for actually including a demo for those who are unsure if they will like the game, its a shame demos are getting quite rare.
I feel like this game could have been good. However, the controls are horribly clunky. It's a PC game, but is built for a console. The setup is badly designed. It doesn't even let you go to options until after character creation and opening dialogue. Even then, it doesn't let you or tell you what buttons even work. You have to use trial and error to make the game work. Playing the game felt like waking through waist deep mud.
I think it is a great game :D. The gameplay is very enjoyable and the graphics bring back memories of other rpg's i used to play that were also enjoyable.

Serdecznie polecam fanom klasyki. Ocena: ★★★★★★★★★☆ 9/10
