About

Hermit lives a quiet life alone in the woods with Pig…until the two are abruptly pulled into a corporate conspiracy.
A factory closure leaves people out of work and hungry. Wildlife starts behaving strangely. And rumors spread of a giant mushroom large enough to feed everyone.
Searching for this legendary Jumbo Fungo means fighting strange creatures, surviving exhausting conversations, and following clues that stretch far beyond the woods. Meanwhile, strange blue mushrooms begin calling to Hermit and Pig…
Battles play out against the clock. Read your enemy’s behavior, choose attacks carefully, and execute button combos before time runs out. Combos grow longer as the story progresses.
“A welcome sense of urgency and strategy in every battle.” — Polygon
Dialogue encounters function like combat. Say the wrong thing and take real cringe damage. Surviving awkward exchanges allows you to grow stronger and level up.
“Validates the internal struggle of social anxiety by turning it into a gameplay loop.” — GameRant
Forage nearly 40 types of fungi to heal, cure status effects, and gain the edge in combat. Pig can sniff out enemy weaknesses in battle or truffles that double as revival items and currency.
“Engaging and fast paced combat, cozy vibes, and plenty of scrumptious mushrooms.” — Loot Level Chill
Progression rewards learning and execution. Each level grants a trinket point. Equip trinkets to customize your battle style. You only have so many points, so every choice matters.
“Standing out within the genre with its frenetic and consistently fun gameplay” — STWGames Italia

These options reduce pressure while preserving the story.
“The gameplay was innovative and the turn-based gameplay engaging.” — Minimap
Hermit and Pig draws inspiration from classic RPGs, but it isn’t interested in nostalgia for its own sake. Its key-combo combat systems and dialogue battles create a constant sense of pressure, whether you’re fighting enemies or talking to people.
“A charming, retro RPG that does something different with a familiar formula” — Polygon

this was a super fun game I played it for 3 days straight i couldnt put it down it was fun and sweet and well designed
Delightful
Great game that's heavily supported by its quirky dialog, memorable characters, and interesting combo combat system. There are numerous difficulty and accessibility options in the game menu to fine tune your experience so that you can have a harder time, or or more relaxed traditional turn-based RPG experience.
One of my favorite RPGs of the decade. I’m so glad I got around to playing. I was intimidated by the default combat setting to select attacks by button combos, but I surprised myself with gaining proficiency over time. By the end of the game, ai felt rather triumphant! Also… the portrayal of Hermit’s social anxiety was spot on. I relate to that dude.
You can beat fascists up in this game and eat magic mushrooms. 10/10 no notes
A rollicking good time with a great sense of humour, I had a big smile on my face for the whole 7 hours it took me start to finish. If you love Mother 3 like I do, this scratched that itch perfectly for me!
perfect game tbh, no notes (now to go eat some mushrooms)
Love the art style and humor! The game play feels engaging and fresh, adding meaningful upgrades as you progress. Great bite-sized experience I think anyone could enjoy.
You can't go wrong by doing the simple things well. When you execute the basics well—and with heart—you get games like this. I’m not usually one to write reviews, but this game deserves it.
