14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Have you ever heard the story of how George Lucas' wife was instrumental in balancing out Lucas' crazy ideas for the first Star Wars trilogy, and how the reason for the prequel's weirdness and ostentatiousness was because an unrestrained Lucas went overboard in her absence? Well, after seeing some of the dev diaries and behind-the-scenes stuff from Arrowhead, I think a comparable case may be happening here between Arrowhead and Sony. Let me explain. The developers of Helldivers 2, Arrowhead Studios, pushed the game towards the mil-sim and hardcore genre during development, using terms such as "grunt fantasy" to describe the game and taking inspiration from games like Arma 3 and Escape From Tarkov. Unfortunately for Arrowhead, the game was published by PlayStation which had a significant say in the games development. PlayStation pushed HD2 in a more casual direction, seeking more mass market appeal. They compared the game to Destiny and advocated for changes like making the game easier and increasing player movement speed. This turned into a massive debate between Arrowhead and PlayStation, and both sides had to compromise to ship the game. This synthesis of both opposing viewpoints was the launch version of Helldivers 2, an excellent, difficult game with unique and interesting gameplay mechanics that was still accessible and fun to play. For a while after launch, things were going good for Arrowhead. Helldivers 2 was selling far beyond expectations, though there were some speed bumps. However, things really started to go downhill in 2025 as PlayStation slowly relinquished their control over HD2 and Arrowhead became bolder in implementing their vision for what the game should be. Arrowhead began making changes to the game in an effort to make it more realistic and to encourage strategic thought. They nerfed player weapons, buffed enemies, and added tankier enemies which required specific player loadouts like explosives to take down. These new changes were greeted with extremely mixed reception, and the playerbase quickly split into two groups; people who were excited about the new direction of the game, and people who preferred the old gameplay of HD2. Unfortunately this debate over a video game spun out of control and made the Helldivers 2 community even worse than it already was, and now just about every content creator and hardcore player in this game is in an echo-chamber of one of those two factions. Besides the consequence of a toxic community, Arrowhead's mismanagement of the game has led to a vicious cycle where players become fed up with the direction of the game and reviewbomb the store page, causing Arrowhead to back down and release broken, half-finished content in apology and promise to reverse course, only for them to involve themselves in another controversy a few months down the line and repeat the cycle all over again. Unfortunately as of the time of writing this review, we're in the middle of the "release broken content" part of the cycle. After scrapping a controversial warbond and releasing its content for free, Arrowhead has been scrambling to come up with something. What they gave us was an underwhelming, rushed Warhammer collab and an extremely broken update that has left the game in what might be one of its most buggiest states ever. Arrowhead, please take a step back from making drastic changes to the game and focus on what matters most; bug fixes, optimization, and progression beyond the warbond system. It might be too late to patch the broken community, but perhaps it could be done via compromise like you did with Sony years ago. Maybe a choice between a hardcore, mil-sim type gamemode and a more traditional HD2 experience? Anyway, if you wanna look into my theory with the whole Sony/Arrowhead debate further I'd suggest you watch the YouTube channel Main Quest's interview with HD2 Producer Evan Nickel. It really illustrates how both sides had absolutely awful ideas for the game that were thankfully snuffed out when both companies were working together on the game.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 123.14/day in the week to Aug 12 → 380.71/day in the week after.
Of the 9 markets with a position on both sides, 9 climbed and 0 fell. The same sale, the same day, opposite directions — which is why nothing here is averaged into a single arrow, and why one sale is not a trend.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Please fix the game. Its not a milsim its a horde shooter. Stop nerfing every good gun and removing every good mechanic
I desperately want to like this game, but I have some issues. To begin, every update feels less than half baked, the warbonds have been far from appealing since before urban legends, and there's so so so many bugs that could have been fixed literal years ago. The bugs that ARE fixed are ones literally no one asked for let alone ones that make the game fun (terminids consistently attacking FRVs???). Every weapon feels obsolete and pointless to use or unlock at this point, half the game isn't useful so you end up using the same 2 stratagems because nothing else does damage. The enemies continuously get buffs while the player and their arsenal get debuffs or nothing at all. So at this point, I can't in the right mind recommend a game that was perfect at launch and then had its teeth ripped out one by one until it's borderline unplayable and just not fun anymore. A horde shooter is not a milsim "grunt fantasy," it's a arcade horde shooter that is supposed to feel good and fun but it hasn't been that since release. So this game isn't it anymore, there are better and more fun, and actually balanced in the players favor games that would be worth your money than this game and its worse than Argentinian economy system. I literally can't fit a big enough review about how disappointed I am in this games current state. Take my sodium and suck on it a while devs, maybe you'll learn something.
Shame on you arrowhead for choosing a direction for the Illuminate that completely goes against players wishes. The idea of a "fantasy" not fitting the game is baffling as the vast majority of the playerbase wants a unique faction to fight. The faction has been bland SINCE INTRODUCTION. SINCE INTRODUCTION!!!!! A handful of enemies to fight that I can count on one hand AND THE SAME SIDE OBJECTIVES FOR EVERY MISSION!!!! Arrowhead get your ♥♥♥♥ together and add what the players want. Not what one person in the studio "thinks" the players want. COUGH COUGH MECH WARBOND COUGH COUGH.
Pretty over hanving to grind hours for credits for a handfull of content each time. Also not playing regularly or being away unable to play means you get locked out the few things you dont need to grind for. All the other samples havent had anything done with them for two or so years now. Grunt fantasy gets pretty stale for me at this point, overall just more of a chore to pick up the game and play it these days than hopping in and enjoying a game or two.
可以,刚更新就闪退了,光能族这波下马威有点说法
I legitimately enjoyed this game, and I hop on sporadically. My recent experience has been absolutely awful. More than 50% of my missions (playing on challenging, so not even high-level) are non-stop hordes from start to death. Nothing but dozens to hundreds, including heavies, artillery, fighter craft, and all the regular enemies. This has made the game almost completely unplayable. As soon as the horde pattern starts, I know the level is lost for me. Apparently, this is not a widely voice complaint, but it has completely ruined the game for me.
The game went so downhill man, things are still super unbalanced. This new update for the squids is AWFUL.
