This game is NOT an old school style first person shooter. It feels like a very generic, slow paced shooter that lacks polish. First of all why does this game have reloading? What does this add to the game? Why so I move so slow when the gameplay is supposed to be fast paced? Where's the bunnyhopping? Also what is with the weapon balancing? The assault rifle is outclassed by the plasma rifle in literally every single way. The assets look a but too good to be true, I'm guessing they were store bought assets since they do seem to be quite familiar to assets commonly used in Unity asset flips. I could be wrong but this is how it seems to me If I am wrong, please leave a comment correcting me on this. On the plus side there seems to be some attention to detail and the levels seem open ended. The problem is that it makes the game difficult to navigate through and many of the empty space feels like a waste as players are slowly walking to the next area before they get a chance to kill anything, this is made worse by the fact that there doesn't seem to be any checkpoints in the level and if there are any checkpoints, they're very poorly placed as I have to restart the level right from the beginning when I die in the second area which I always do. This game doesn't respect the player's time and feels like it was designed aimlessly. It's cool that the developer is trying to bring more variety in terms of environment and has added extra dialogue and stuff to find in post boxes but the gunplay is what matters the most and it's terrible. It seems all the other reviews were gifted the game. I on the other hand purchased the game and have now refunded it. I'm all for giving developers a chance but if this is the best you can do, you aren't going to make any money. If this game was released for free as a test to gauge interest, I'd be more lenient but I had to pay for this game, I have to be honest and state how I feel about the game. Here's a list of things this game needs before it is worth spending money on: - Ability to see/edit the controls in the menu - Checkpoints (or more of them) - Bunnyhopping - Removal of reloading - Better weapon balancing - Add a compass to tell players where they need to go next - Weapon swapping with mouse wheel - (If store bought) Please create your own assets or hire an artist to do them for you, these assets don't really look all that great to begin with, they look pretty bland to be perfectly honest. If they aren't store bought, I apologize for mistakenly passing such judgement but truth be told, these assets are nothing special and don't make me any more invested in the game. Ultimately my advice for this developer is to design smaller, forget the 3d models and make something 2D with more colourful art design. If you can't do art, you really should either hire an artist to do it for you or learn how to do art yourself. Only then will your game be worth spending people's hard earned money on.
So here we have HellCrunch. The game offers some open world levels and some random weapons. There is a meager storyline, but frankly I could not be bothered. Now on to the gameplay, the game pretends to be an old school shooter. But the devs will have to look up what that means. Enemies will kill you fast if you get to close(especially the shooting ones), so the only way to beat the game is to play at a distance and take it slow. Not that I mind but for a fast paced game, go look elsewhere. Also the game has these models that seem to be bought from the unity store, since I have seen them before in other games. And last but not least, the game is short. There is just way to much that could be improved in this game. In the current state this should still be in early access to be honest. So not recommended.
Ah, Hellcrunch! A solid game through and through. As advertised, the gameplay harkens back to shooters of by-gone eras with running and gunning and managing the resources of ammunition and health. The weapon selection is quite good, everything feels very kinetically satisfying from the humble shotgun to the laser guns to RPGs. The mega gun in particular adds a fresh flavour to a genre rife with old standards like shottys, machine guns, and explosives (as fun as they may be as well). The story is threadbare but let that not disuade you, the world is full of flavour and easter eggs to delight player with the explorers impulse. I must admit I spent a fair chunk of time looking for that dang racoon, though eventually the gameplay called me back and I gave up the search. I also appreciated the setting, I can't think of any other game that takes place in cottage country and it has an appropriately eerie feel to it. I particularly liked the waking-dreaming mechanic, though I am a sucker for that kind of thing personally. Overall I would highly recommend it, I went in expecting Doom but it has a more Serious Sam feel to it, which is something that I feel is sorely lacking in the modern game market. Grab it, play it through, unravel the dream-spiracy.
No.
Easily the greatest game every created! It puts Half Life to shame, and makes Halo look like garbage. You owe it to yourself to play this game. It made my life complete!
Если вкратце - такое даже даром нам не надо. А ведь еще деньги просит :F
If you played and were a fan of 90's style shooters like Doom, Outlaws and wolfenstein you will enjoy this game. You pretty much frag your way through zombies, soldiers and machines across different levels/landscapes to try and restore order in the Hellcrunch world. It's a fun throwback game with a cool atmosphere. Will you be able to stop the mad scientists plans??
Veterans of the 90s FPS will take a trip down memory lane with Tension Splice's maiden voyage. A game truely about having fun shooting monsters and not taking itself too seriously. Soundtrack is way better than it has any right to be ;) Don't miss the surprise ending!
Hellcrunch. Did you ever had strange, psychotic Opium drenched Nightmares? This nice, small game feels like this. Its not s u c h a "worse game" like it seemsXD. Also it needs more content, ammo, maps etc. Maybe a bit of Openworld-elements? In Hellcrunch my ammo is running out too fast. I cant switch from level to level. UP-Dates are needed! Reduce the size of text in game ,its to BIG! Also im missing LORE,Information about the village or town and the creatures! And HOW can I switch from level to level? Unlock em?! What I miss also is faster moving enemys, better A.I.? Add cheat codes, more stuff but ADD it. Hellcrunch deserves more attention, and the Dev should do something to make this better! To Tensionsplice! If U read this please answer me if/what comes next in Hellcrunch.Good luck! Yours truly Nergal 67!
