i was afraid that the game will be a downgrade compared to the first one . but fortuity i was wrong . the game was great as the fist one with enough improvements . the fighting was epic and the story i enjoy it so much i only face issues with framerate i not sure it was from my PC or the game . otherwise i enjoy it and it will remain a good memory and one of the best experiences i had . looking forward the 3 game
Played the first game and immediately had to play the sequel! Despite the many technical difficulties for it to run smoothly even on the lowest possible graphic settings (had to download a non-official mod which I've never had to do before with any other game), it was a beautiful experience. The icelandic environment is breathtaking, I was happy they made this one a few hours longer in gameplay. Hoping there will be a third!
This is a really big downgrade from the first game in everything except its graphics. Its combat in the first one , while shallow, was fun, responsive, impactful and heavy attacks can aoe. here everything is very slow, dodges are just small sidesteps and parries are severely nerfed to the point where you are better off dodging. What made the first one really unique to me was the psychosis and how much time and effort was put into it as it was a character in the story itself. The psychological storytelling was really good, and here it takes a backseat like its a story element rather than the condition that Senua is battling with. Its actual story is boring, i can see what they are trying to do but its told in such a uninteresting way that i felt like i was wasting my time. I was pretty harsh on the first one when i reviewed it and while it still is a glorified tech demo, i have grown to appreciate what we got from that one a lot more. Yes i didn't finish it as im refunding it because $12.50 is way too much for this, for a 5 hour walking simulator with occasional, less polished combat it should be at most $8. No wonder why microsoft cut them off, ninja theory saw the feedback and low sales of the first one and not only did they doubled down, but they are going to triple down with the new Senua game they are working on
