I expected more coming from my $0.49.
Fun Game if you're not doing anything for like 20 mins.
nice, + push for archievment show
This game is my new gold standard for "minimum viable product", but not without its charm. In a world where even Jewels Blitz 3 starts with 50 unskippable tutorial levels, it's refreshing to play an FPS that doesn't hand-hold the player through the subtle nuances of point-and-click hellspawn slaughter. If you've heard of DOOM and you chew with your mouth closed, you won't need this game explained to you. You have one weapon. It has three fire modes - tap trigger for a shotgun blast, hold it for gatling, and use the other trigger to launch grenades. I don't think it tracks bullet ammo and everything dies in one hit, including you. You get two grenades, and you replenish lost grenades by collecting souls, which you have to do anyways because it's the only goal the game tracks. I got all the achievements in under ten minutes, simply by mastering this one simple strat: GO FORWARD AND NEVER STOP. The mobs are hard to spot against the scenery and move slightly slower than you, but they can also spawn behind you, and there's zero feedback for this, so standing still is how you catch yourself asking ridiculous questions like "WHAT GOT ME". Backdoor skeleton got you, friendo. Backdoor skeleton. Move forward, never stop. There's not a lot else to talk about. It's one level and it never really evolves. Most of the challenge is in making sure you don't snag on a tombstone, miss a skelly while bunny-hopping, or get flanked as you round one of the level's few obstacles. Actually, the REAL challenge is in collecting the souls that the skellies drop, because going back for them is NOT MOVING FORWARD, which is how you die, they're only worth 1 apiece, and they disappear after several seconds. There's pickups that generate randomly, they're a lot easier to get to, and most of them give you more souls than the skellies do. So if you run laps around the church and go for those when you see them, you'll do just fine for collecting souls. The thing is, it doesn't do a lot. In fact, it does just barely enough to be a complete game. But the controls are tight, the goals are tough but fair, and considering candy bars cost like 3 bucks nowadays, I can honestly say I enjoyed this more, AND longer, than a package of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, so I really have nothing to complain about. Heck, I'll probably play it again at some point. Can't do THAT with a bag of Skittles. But like I said at the top, it's a minimum viable product. Don't expect too much and you won't be let down.
One small map. Endless spawning enemies. Somethings don't make sense and I wish there were more key binding options and an fov slider but for $1 this was fun and something I may come back to when wanting to mindlessly pass a few minutes in between tasks.
I mean I enjoyed this game a lot.
Fun little horde shooter to relax
