Meet all the legendary poets of antiquity including but not limited to Homer, Ovid, Horace and Lucan, and help them find their own way to salvation.

Hell Maiden picks up from the ending of the original Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri.
Dante is now inexplicably back in Hell after having reached Paradiso — and she's lost all her memories to boot! Unable to remember anything about her past life or her first journey through Hell, Dante is determined to climb her way back to Heaven and once again come face to face with Paradiso's higher powers in search for answers.
A compelling story about passion, justice and love, Hell Maiden is more than a reimagining of the classic poem — it is the exciting continuation of its events!

The game is a lot of fun. I'd say it's the best Vampire Survivors like that I played so far. I love the unique card system and art is absolutely beatifull. There are a few things that might be a little anoying right now. When you pick a card on the level up screen you return to the battle and can't adjust your hand, which sometimes means you need to wait untill the next level up to adjust your build the way you wanted. You also can't swap cards if you don't have at least one empty slot, which can force you to discard cards you might want to keep otherwise. I hope these things will be changed before full release, maybe they could even allow us to change our hand mid game, which I think could add some more strategic depth by adjusting your build to the enemies you fight. I also sometimes encounter a bug that makes the UI go weird and makes it almost imposible to rearange cards. If that happens to you press space and without moving your mouse use wasd and e to select a card and equip it. This fixes it for me.
I think the game is legitimately good. I want to see where it goes next, and it has a bit of challenge to it.

Amazing art and music already make this worth the $10 alone. And you gotta love the Project Moon/Limbus Company fans making references in the comments :) In Hell we Live, Lament.
I like it so far. It's the same gameplay loop as most other bullet heaven / survivors-like games, with twin stick controls for moving and aiming. You also have dashing and spell casting. There are a few minor mechanics that it adds to the build formula, but nothing major. The main selling point is the aesthetic. If you like this type of game, and the artwork and yuri of Little Goody Two-Shoes you'll like this.

I'm not a huge fan of these kinds of games, but the aesthetic of this one drew me in... and boy, was I surprised with what I received, even in the short form that it currently is in. I've been getting more into rogue-like/rogue-lite-styled games but only breached the "survivors"-style of gameplay with, if memory serves me well enough, one other game. The presentation is excellent for an Early Access game-- the artwork especially is beautiful and I've really enjoyed the voice cast that they have so far with what they have released as of Ver. 0.2.39. The tale that it is telling has been interesting so far, as an interpretation of "The Divine Comedy" with an anime-styled twist. Being Early Access, there's plenty of growing for this game to do, and for me, I'm really looking forward to how much this one grows over the year-long EA period they have planned for it. Having only two levels to play in it's current form has given me 20+ hours of gameplay, aiming for the achievements that are (currently) released, and it hasn't been frustrating in any way, which is one of the concerns I have with these kinds of games. Needless to say, I will most definitely return to this one once more of the game is released (as well as re-issue a review of the complete package), and if you have an interest in these kinds of games, or even if you don't but like the look of it, I urge you to give it a try and see for yourself how you feel about it.
