imo the game becomes goofy rather than spooky in some scenes towards the end. regardless, overall was very frightening & super fun! i loved the immersive desktop details!
Entirely lacks save functions.
such a good game, was invested from beginning to end :')

Supimpa!
A good fake-OS game with a creepy, unsettling atmosphere
Puzzle difficulty: ★★☆☆☆ This one is among the better fake OS games I have played. They nailed the 2000s internet vibe and the general UI of the era. I found the story good, mysterious, and not at all predictable. It consists of 4 parts, each roughly one hour long, and there is a surprise or a new interesting mechanic every step of the way. There are a few minor jumpscares, but nothing too serious.
Well put-together from a technical standpoint, but the plot lacks a lot of thrust so it falls a bit flat when it tries to ramp things up near the end.
wow honestly, this game gripped me from start to finish and i'm not ashamed to admit i shed a few tears at the end (no spoilers) the visuals, the music and the effects where all so well done imo and i loved trying to figure out the puzzels. its very interactive and there is also lots of little things to look at. The story is fantastic and If they ever came out with a sequeal i would pay 2x the amount to play more! so glad i found this game. I highly recommend it!
I want to start this off by saying that I did really enjoy this game. The atmosphere, especially when you follow the suggestion of playing in the dark with headphones on, was great. Very spooky. The game has a few jumpscares, those just being popups on your screen. They made me jump the first few times, but once you start getting deeper into the game, they kind of just become a part of the game and not really scary anymore. I recall muttering 'you again?' at the popup before promptly closing it, if that helps you understand what I mean. I very much enjoy these Fake OS, 'going through a computer' style games, so this was right up my alley. The setup for Selim's story and the investigation was really good, and it got me hooked. I started the game late at night before bed, and the first thing I did when I got onto my computer the next morning was open the game again to continue. There's a lot of stuff that you can do beyond just focusing on the main story. Going through all the different websites, files and minigames gives you a lot to keep busy with when you aren't pursuing the main objective. The art, music and all the effort that went into crafting this game really shows, and I appreciate it. The puzzles were challenging, but not so much so that I ever had to google anything, which is a win in my book. The problem solving is engaging and rewarding when you get it right rather than just being frustrating. Now to touch on the parts of this game that I did not like. The story starts getting kind of weak towards the end, and for me personally, the ending didn't feel all satisfying. Writing a good ending is difficult, I know, so I won't dog on it too much, but it could've been beneficial to work on it a little bit more. I think it would've been nice to spend a bit more time investigating how Salim died and perhaps connecting the dots ourselves rather than just piling a bunch of stuff on at the end with very little player input. However, that may just be me wanting more content from this game or misunderstanding the ending. I do highly recommend that you give this game a try. I grabbed this game on sale, but if you have the means, I'd say its worth even the full price. Go forth and investigate :)
