Beautifully touching and engaging visual novel 9/10
This game's writing impressed me. I wasn't sure what to expect given the low number of reviews, but the concept intrigued me. While the script could certainly be tidied up (there are some spelling errors and occasionally the dialogue is a little stiff), there is a lot of great emotional writing. I teared up at a couple endings, and had chills go down my back during a couple as well. I was also curious to unravel the mystery the whole time, and I actually am satisfied with the answers the game provides. My play time is significant for a game this length, one playthrough will last you about a few hours if you read at a decent pace, but I just had to see all the game had to offer. There's a very intriguing subtext to the game that you can really only piece together after getting multiple endings as well; Various little details, dialogue or visuals that only make sense in hindsight, etc. It's really engaging, and was enough to get me to play 3 times just to see all the little clues and changes I could find. The way the game lets you know exactly what influences changes in the story when it happens is a nice touch too. There's a multitude of choices to influence the story in small ways. The only complaints I have towards the game is that I wish it had visual novel style convenience features to better facilitate multiple playthroughs. Things like scene skipping, telling you if you've read a line before, a flowchart for scenes, etc. You can hold down a button to forward the dialogue, but it is a bit slow, and certain scripted sections can't be sped up at all. I'm also missing just 1 achievement, and I have no idea how to get it...
Ignore my first achievement I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, great game btw. Love the art.
Heart wrenching lesbian horror story.
Absolutely a fantastic game! To put it briefly, if you have played the To The Moon series and enjoyed them, then go ahead and get this game. If you liked To The Moon, you will like this. What we have here is a good example of what RPG Maker can do for a story-telling centered game. The world has frozen and you're the only person left moving....or are you? Dive into the mystery of what happened, build a bond (or don't), and experience multiple endings based on your actions and decisions. The way the characters reference prior events is really well done here...it honestly makes me wonder how certain situations would play out if I had picked a different option three or four chapters earlier. I honestly wish there was a chapter select, although the game really isn't that long. Although the storyline (from what I can tell) is mostly linear, this high level of variety ensures that you actually COULD replay this game just to see the effects of your various choices. The music and writing is great here. There is some nudity (mostly pixel nudity, but at least one instance that I recall that is based on their portraits). If you want a (potential) love story with a sci-fi mystery twist to it, then you're in the right place! I have already wishlisted the Dev's other games (one currently out and the other in development) and look forward to seeing more!
I really wanted to like this game. The trailer pulled me in, and I thought the world was interesting. I still really want to know what caused the freeze. I don't think it's a bad game, hence the positive rec, but it'd give it neutral if that were an option. I'm sure there may be some plot reason as to why, but Cora (the protag) is just awful. She's deeply unlikable and inconsistent. I mean if you haven't seen a person in quite a while because the whole world is frozen, would you pull a knife on them immediately? Tell them to stop joking around? Say you're interested in learning what caused the freeze, but refusing to engage in conversation about it? It just felt draining watching her and Mollie interact because Cora was just so mean, for no reason. I really want to know how long she's been in the town, with everyone frozen. Wouldn't you be tired of the solitude? Even someone with anxiety would start to feel lonely. But Cora remains misanthropic. I realise this is a very weird and niche complaint, which is why I'm not recommending against playing this. But as someone who plays for story and interaction between characters, I didn't want to continue. Characters don't need to necessarily be likable, but an uncommunicative protag in a game all about story, feels like a misstep. And when they did have an actual conversation together, they talked about brushing their teeth for quite a while. It's not endearing, it's just boring. If you're a picky sod like me, this may not be for you. But also there are many other glowing reviews of this game. It could still resonate with you, but it's just not my cup of tea.
Amazing video game but incredibly sad. I cried 😢.
Very sweet game and very melancholy. I greatly enjoyed the dialogue, especially in the little moments.
Got this game while just browsing LGBTQ+ games and honestly i'm glad i did! It's very very underrated and I wish this game gets more players at some point! The story is very intresting and unique in a way that i think many people would enjoy!
