This is a weird one. It has a bizarrely long EULA which I tried to read but it made little sense, it doesn't even have a setting for mouse sensitivity, and it has a pretty annoying maze puzzle. But still - what it does well, it does really, really well. It's like... hipster craft beer of jumpscares. It's less about the intensity or shock of the jumpscares, but about how perfectly timed they are. It's anticipating you anticipating them, throwing you off, and... then nothinAND BAM. I really appreciated that. I generally hate jumpscares, but here they're more like a tap on the shoulder, whispering "boo" into your ear. You'll still feel the jolt, but without the abuse of your senses. And considering how well-crafted they are, I have nothing but respect towards them. The game as a whole keeps throwing little surprises your way. This shouldn't be happening, but it is. That's not what's supposed to be here, but it is. There wasn't a wall here before, but now there is. Your senses won't get a chance to rest. Normalcy is a social convention anyway. Can you even say what is normal, if everything constantly changes? Is it the baseline? A commonality? What if these can't be found? The walls weep orange tears, the decapitated head blinks and smiles at me, the children at the park just talk as if the masked figure is not there. Wait, it's not there. But it just was? Oh O- No. It's nothing. The rain falls sideways. The hands grow out of the soil, their fingers signifying a good harvest. The smell of the burning flesh of the people you just set free. Turn around. He was here all along. Vomiting Angelology is trying to kill me, but I am a Survivor. Normal. (3)

Didn't made me feel normal, thanks
The first Area of this game has such an amazing atmosphere and aesthetic that feels genuinely creepy.. but after that first area it feels like the game doesn't know what it want's to do and just becomes a slideshow of boring setpieces that don't really seem to be saying much. If this developer made another game that leaned more into the style of that first area I'd play it.
This isn't a long game. Maybe just under one hour, and that's it. Despite the above, it's a really nice little game with some cool choices being made. First, I really liked the PSX aesthetic. That's could be more just me, but it is something that they did well. The game did really feel like it came out of the PSX, as far as the graphics go. If you like that sort of thing, you will likely be happy with what you're looking at. The games are fairly normal as far as indie horror games, but they do some things really. Using how the world changing around you is done really well, and you're going to make you take a minute to think about what just happened to you if you weren't really looking at them. It's really nice, and while it doesn't really much as far as gameplay goes, it does help with atmosphere a lot. I wasn't totally liked the way how the game chops the story into little vignettes instead of a single whole, but it was okay. Oh, and there are a few jump scares that are kind of cheap to me, but that's mostly because I just don't like jump scares. Maybe you do, you know? Just so you know it's in the game. All in all, it's a small game and I enjoyed.

If you’d like to see the game in motion through my eyes, take a look at this complete archive of me playing it here. It should give you a good idea of how the game plays and what to expect.
What could go wrong on a secluded country road, with a sh1ytti day, and driving a vater with steering, wheels and transmission, but who would not even want the Taliban for their shady purposes. and in the final, near an abandoned playground... The general goddess, or rather the approximations of common places present in this horror but do not satisfy me absolutely. Some bugs did not allow me to finish the game, which however, except for a suggestive creepy setting, has not much to present to the public lovers of horror.
Ever play those games that are like..8 smaller games that seem like they’re unconnected but they actually are and there’s a narrative thread running through the middle of them and it’s really quite something? Yeah? This ain’t that. You Feel Normal is..well..I don’t think even YFN knows what it’s supposed to be so what hope do I have? It’s a short, linear experience that hints towards an interconnectedness between its brief “Chapters” but never amounts to much more than a jumpscare followed by an abrupt cut into the next, thematically disconnected, section. And it opens with such promise! The first chapter features Missing Posters, a Family that Disappears when you knock on the door, a Mysterious Offscreen Death! And then capitalises on it the same way I capitalise on a good night’s sleep. By squandering it and flapping around for 45 minutes, making a noise and achieving nothing.
Absolute Cinema. I went schizophrenic on the lamps because they looked like morse code, and i watched the credits 6 times because they looked like they were changing. 10/10
Interesting concept, but this was NOT tested. The game has numerous major bugs that I am surprised were never caught. Whether it be getting out of bounds and having to restart the entire game or being able to trigger the same jumpscares numerous times, this game just feels really jank to me and it pains me to give it a bad review, but it is in need of fixes. Also why is there only three resolution options? Makes the game look bad on some of my displays.
This game scared me a few times even when I was expecting it. The pacing is good and the aesthetic is on point. There are a lot of clever little things that the game does to really unsettle you. Definitely recommend checking it out.
Sure, I can recommend it. It's a cheap game, and I got my mileage out of it. Nothing extraordinary but some good scares, some tricky sequences, and some decent intrigue overall. Pretty spooky! And I feel normal.
