About
Take charge of history’s greatest war machines in Hearts of Iron IV, a grand strategy wargame that challenges your strategic abilities and political insight. Refight World War II at the head of nation from the time period, building up an industrial powerhouse and a diplomatic alliance that will effectively wage war on ideological opponents.
Hearts of Iron IV is more than a historical simulation. Alternate historical paths open up with almost every decision you make, from small ones such as where to launch your attack to crack open Fortress Europe, to large ones, such as whether to re-establish democracies or long forgotten monarchies.
In Hearts of Iron IV, you can plan the military strategy almost down to the rivets, as you design division templates for your armies, research new modes of production and means of destruction, set out factory instructions and pursue political objectives. Almost no part of the war goes untouched as you guide a nation of your choice through humanity’s darkest hour.
Death or Dishonor: focuses on eastern and central European middle powers
Together for Victory: focuses on British Commonwealth nations
Waking the Tiger: focuses on China and Japan
Man the Guns: focuses on naval features and alternate history paths for the United States

Interesting game, I recommend it!

Tonight I came to an epiphany. I'm not going to waste my hours on this game anymore. No matter how addicting or fun or engaging the game might be sometimes, it isn't worth the trouble and the wasted time. Just to get into the game, you need to sink 10's of hours into it to get a basic idea of the mechanics. Tutorials on youtube are useless and has never helped me before. Mostly because it assumes I have the dlc, but i'll get on that soon. The community is pathetically insecure and frankly most of the playerbase who engages online are useless. The guides in-game and on it's website are useful enough to get you understanding the things, but it never helps you have a frame of reference so you implement it practically. Overall, it's depressing knowing that even at my experience level, you'll sink in 8 hours on a playthrough, and realize that it's all in vein because you forgot one tiny little aspect that completely ruins your run. It's just an episodic "Lets see what i can do" to an "oh, ok, there's 8 hours gone because i didn't click a button 4 hours ago mid-war". Frankly, it's purgatory. It's depressing, and overall, it's just really boring most of the time, because no matter what you do, you will mess up something somewhere, and your time has been thrown into the void. For all of the "skill issues" out there, they never fail to conveniently forget that the games difficulty is borderline directly tied into how much you want to spend on DLC. Every major update applies a DLC revamp, even to those who don't have it. So the features that are accessible to non-owners feel rushed and outdated, out of the box (I could be wrong about some of the DLC stuff, to be fair) Each major update completely leaves any mod devs scrambling to update it to meet demand. And even then, good mods are so few and far between, and the good ones that don't consist of the mainstream options, are never up to date anymore. And the ones that are, aren't really fun anyway, because of the issues previously stated. You get into a problem that is never explained to you, out of nowhere, and you wasted an hour on nothing because you can't possibly adapt to it. I get itches to play this game, and every time I do, I leave feeling disappointed. So don't buy this game. Save the money, and more importantly, save the time, and spent it with your friends and family. Build a closer bond. That's infinitely more valuable than larping as a general on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ map game. PS: This company is pathetic overall, but that's another issue.
