Heart of Ember is an amateurish casual little RPG. Sure, this part-time project could use better quality control (text escapes its boxes, you can get stuck in scenery, and you need to scroll to see major options like "Exit"), the stats are rather simplistic (we don't get to distribute ability points when we level), the prince is in our party but we can't see him unless we're fighting, the save system (interact with a save point or you won't be saved) and the mostly featureless landscape - all of this makes Heart of Ember an amateur production. But the writing and world-building, with backstory and secrets hinted at (and good BGM), is, while not epic, sufficiently enticing to me to not want to not recommend this game. It's not much of a challenge, but it's nice, and it doesn't feel dumb. Chapter 1 is all you get right now (it ends on a huge cliffhanger), and it takes 1-2 hours to complete. You might find the price a tad high for a small amateur production, but if you catch it in a bundle or it is on sale, give it a look.
Decent enough so far\ very basic UI with no tooltips or explanations. Hard to know whats going on in combat with no descriptions of whatever effect you are under, and the random encounters are a bit to frequent for my tastes. Good enough for 5 shekels I guess. OI VEY

Played about an hour so far. It's decent for it's price. The graphics are nice (characters and world). Story seems decently written as well.
Definetly a simple game like it says, story and the graphics might be cute but frequent and mostly pointless battles(you heal after each battle) combined with frustratingly slow movement speed mean that you probably should have something else to watch while you wait for your character to move or battle to end.
Was well worth the play. Simple but good storyline, great Indie game. Waiting for chapter 2.
Cute little characters, nice story, and a sweet hand painted world. Though the lack of directions during battle was a little challenge. It's a nice little game =)
I mean it's okay. Not my cup of tea. The story seems a little cliche, and you can really tell the creator is new at game designing. It's cute and all but rather boring. I got it from a bundle so it didn't cost me much at all. I would say if you're bored and wanting something relaxing to play then this is a shot.
cute final fantasy like rpg but needs more work. if the dev added a run and worked a bit more on the menu i would give this a thumbs up but as is i'm not into it. if you can get past the flaws i'm sure there is a good game here. -i have no idea how to exit the game. -it needs a run option -secondary character is controlled by AI -can only save at save points
This is a cutesy 3D Final Fantasy ripoff JRPG. There's too much click-through dialogue, which is wordy but doesn't really add anything. There's no graphics customisability so you end up with a low poly, low texture mess (at least it works in 4K - lucky, because you can't change the resolution!) You really need a gamepad, this probably wasn't developed for PC. Once you get through that, the gameplay itself is far from compelling - clunky controls, weak and shallow combat mechanics, no skill needed. Just play Final Fantasy.
J-anime style RPG, however it didnt catch me for the first 5 mins...
