oy vey, i want my schekels back
The game offers very limited choices. You can’t save your progress, which becomes frustrating. For example in the second session, the game brings up dating an 18 year old girl, even though it wasn’t mentioned in the first session. It feels random and out of place why this specific focus on young girls? At one point, I wanted to throw an envelope at the character, but because saving isn’t an option, I was stuck. Turns out, this is more of a direct flaw than a deep, meaningful mechanic. In summary, the game is built on an interesting concept but ends up being a massive disappointment. There are four sessions in total, with 6-8 choices per session. Your influence is nearly zero. For instance, I managed to make him leave the party and prevented Mein Kampf from being published, yet somehow the SS still got established. Alternatively, he can stay in the party, publish the book, or leave politics altogether those outcomes are possible too. Oh, and about achievements... I didn’t even get the one for diagnosing Borderline Personality Disorder. Why? Because apparently, we’re diagnosing a condition from 1975 in a story set in 1925. Makes total sense right? Apparently, the achievement unlocks if you accuse him of “pretending to be blind.” That’s... therapeutic? Sure. Why not.... Meanwhile, nothing you discuss in therapy sessions actually ties to the outcomes. Case in point: after a chill second session, Mein Kampf just... gets published. Logical progression, who needs it? The game gives you a very narrow scope to work with, and the questions you can ask are often nonsensical. Maybe that’s meant to mimic early 20th-century therapy approaches, or maybe I’m just trying to justify the poor design. Honestly, a broader game focusing on a morally gray character before Hitler could have been much more engaging. As it stands, the game feels like a waste of time. Was it a waste of time? Absolutely. Do I recommend it? No. If you were curious, congrats I’ve just saved you the pain. Oh, and I did eventually “win,” He left politics. But I still have no clue how. Apparently, during the diagnosis phase, when he says, “I don’t want to hear this,” you just agree to end the session, and poof... he walks off to rethink his life. On my first playthrough, I pressed the issue, and he just swore at me. 1.5/5. The “.5” is purely for the schadenfreude of watching it fail so hard.
This game is extremely misunderstood. It was an interesting character study of Hitler, and a history lesson. It doesn't support him. What it does demonstrate is how a normal child can be turned into an evil adult - something that still happens all too frequently, though not to this extent obviously! Hitler wasn't a monster from outer space, he was an Austrian boy who was twisted by things that happened to him. Eventually, he committed what is possibly the greatest evil committed in modern history - it's hard to know if he was worse than Stalin and Mao, who killed even more, albeit of their own peoples. It's a close and sickening race. Evil has always existed, but in the 20th century it was industrialized and refined. It's nauseating, but staying ignorant about these evil men, including Hitler, will only increase the odds that this could all happen again in a slightly different form. Some would argue that it already has, but I don't think there is any living person who compares to this trio of evil - Hitler, Stalin, Mao. At least, not yet. I got this game on sale, and it was worth playing for the 40 minutes it took to get every achievement. The ones I missed I got by starting a new game and just skipping through all the dialogue with the space bar, as suggested by someone in the discussion forum. Well worth a couple of bucks if you are interested in history. If you're not interested in history, this game will bore you to death, because it's not so much a game as it is an interactive historical-fiction short story. There are at least a hundred games that let you kill Hitler. I first killed Hitler in the early 90s, playing Wolfenstein. I've killed Hitler many times, in games, in movies, in my thoughts. But there is only one game that lets you heal Hitler, and prevent World War Two. This is that game, and it was very satisfying to feel like I prevented a war, even just for a brief moment.
The game offers a brief yet concise look into Hitler’s personality issues.Level of historical accuracy is on the high point - which is very important to me. Game may appeal both to those deeply familiar with the topic (like me) and to people who are interested in novels or psychology. As someone interested in psychology, personality analysis and political psychology, I found the experience truly engaging! I wish,a game could be little bit longer!
Psychologist tries to guilt trip uncle H into being a p*do in one of the dialogue branches, you can't make this ♥♥♥♥ up. 100%'d it within 1 hour, was a goofy way to celebrate his birthday I guess.
The game is underwhelming. I finished it in 40 minutes without feeling like I had much of an influence over anything - in other words, feels like a demo of a great, though yet-unfinished game. Nonetheless, most of those 40 minutes were kinda fun, despite being a little corny - the game didn't feel authentic at all. I would love to see an expansion upon this idea, which I feel is amazing for a deeper layered videogame, but this does not feel like a finished product.
interesting idea, great execution, lacks content. wish it included more and acted more as a storyline of how things went rather than including some facts here and there. i really hope to see more from this dev, possibly with the help of a larger team, to make the game more detailed and insightful.
Fair play to Hitler man went from sketching buildings in Vienna to leading a nation in Berlin genuinely sound geeza as well fr
两年以后再打开这个游戏打出了他退出政治的结局,这样的话你会幸福吗。我希望所有人幸福。
Worth every penny!
