Have a Nice Death is a 2D action roguelike where you play as an overworked Death, whose employees have run rampant, completely throwing off the balance of souls - and his vacation plans. In order to restore order, you'll have to grab your trusty scythe and show your employees who's boss.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.29/day in the week to Aug 17 → 2.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Have a Nice Death is a treat. The visuals are pure eye candy—the atmosphere and aesthetic are spot on, and the animations feel smooth and satisfying. The combat is just as enjoyable. While it can feel a bit “samey” at times, it’s generally satisfying as you hack and slash through a wide variety of enemies and bosses. The assortment of weapons and spells helps keep each run feeling like its own experience. The writing and plot are a bit silly, but overall charming. The characters are likable, and the story has a fun personality that fits the game well. If I had one complaint, it’s that the progression feels a bit awkward. I found myself unlocking weapons between runs a bit too quickly. Sometimes several weapons at once. Which didn’t give me much time to savor each one. I also occasionally wished for a way to upgrade a core stat like HP or mana; a little extra health or MP would have gone a long way on longer runs. Overall, I’d give Have a Nice Death an 8/10. It kept me hooked and entertained for a weekend, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with it. Performance on my LED Steam Deck was mostly great, although I did experience one crash. The game is worth full price if roguelites are your thing. Otherwise, pick it up on sale if you can.

Awesome
Cute.
If you like side scrolling roguelikes, and are good with the mix of comedy and sensitive topics, then you'll love this game. It can seem easy at first, and then you reach the boss, and realize you've already messed up.
