About

As a traveler without a name, you find yourself stranded in a ghost town on the frontier. Everyone is gone, including the hired hand and the horses supposed to carry you over the mountain. But the howling in the distance means that you won't be alone for soon. Better check your iron, partner, for it's the only thing between you and monsters that lurk everywhere in the Cursed West.
Hauntsville is a western horror survival game, set in the heyday of the American West. Stranded with just the clothes on your back (and up to three of your hopefully closest friends), you'll have to work the land to make it through the night. Build a homestead, search the haunted town for supplies or try to survive on what you can find in the wild, pursued by creatures straight from North American folklore!

The Cursed West: Set in a remote mountain village during the conquest of the American West, Hauntsville lets you experience this pivotal period in American history, fighting for your very life against the things in the dark.
Alone or with pardners: It wouldn't be the Wild West without a trusty partner at your side. Whether you're the good, the bad, or the ugly, Hauntsville can welcome up to four brave cowboys on the adventure of their lives!
Western survival: A cowboy won't make it far on their own. Build a homestead with trees cut down with your own axe. Delve into mines to bring up iron to smith into tools. Hunt animals to keep yourself fed. Or pack your iron and head into the haunted town to stock up - if you dare.
Day and night gameplay: The valley’s almost peaceful while the sun is up, allowing you to explore in relative safety. But everything changes come nightfall. Beasts lurk around every corner, looking to turn you into a trail snack. Surviving from dusk till dawn is an open question.
Dynamic weather: Every time you head out the weather might take a turn for the worse. A clear sky can turn gray, followed by a downpour that leaves you trapped in the mud. Up higher, you might be blindsided by a blizzard or disoriented by the sudden onset of night, exposing you to things that lurk in the dark.
Unpredictability: Hauntsville relies on these sophisticated dynamic systems to ensure that no two games are the same. You never know if a place that was once safe might turn out to be a monsters' nest the next time through, a rich claim you just staked won't be buried under mud or snow when you come back, or if a quick trip to get firewood won’t turn into a nail-biting fight for survival.
Authenticity: Every aspect of Hauntsville has been meticulously researched, from the Colts and Winchesters, through period-accurate architecture and clothing, to the very beings stalking you in the valley, drawn from the rich folklore of the American West and beyond.

Cool Game. better with friends. Pain in the ass to get into your own base without exterior stairs. Many deaths cause by this. So..be sure to figure that out first. Other than that...I havent found any real issues.
I"ve played a lot of game where there out too kill you. Bit this, this is beyond the pale. I have never played a game where a game tries so hard to kill a player because there beating the game. Never have I seen so much cheating by a game then this one. You bring in enemy after I guessed defeated "5" enemy so that you would defeat me. WTF!!!!! Not only I'm working with old weapons. not only it takes a looonnngggg time to reload said weapons, you enemy get to have free shots at me and do a lot of damage to me that there's no way for me to heal myself fast enough to live. Please GYST!!!!!!! I like the game, I like the idea you have, just please make it so a person can survive the next day.
It’s really bare bones and it badly needs optimization but it’s very fun. The gameplay loop is pretty casual and it’s the skeleton of something great. The game needs a lot of work but if you are here for an early access experience this is worth it. The vibe and visuals are great. The shooting feels really meaty. Hope to see more but I’m enjoying what’s here.
Glitchy and it needs work. Still waiting on my refund.
Very Nice Game! They start with the CORRECT keyboard and mouse controls. It is so refreshing to see these controls done RIGHT. So many games, just don't setup the controls very good. This game has got it right. Thank you. And thank you for the new game content. Love it.
This is one of those games that needs a neutral review. Is it a bad game? No, I wouldn't say it is, not exactly. But at the same time ... IS it a bad game? Kind of? Hauntsville has potential. The bones are solid, but it needs more fleshing out. Shooting, movement, enemy hitboxes, the networking for multiplayer, all of it needs to be improved. As is, it's just ... Jank. It's also really short. Once you complete the final quest, that's it. There's nothing else. If you're buying this for a solo experience? Stay FAR away from the game. I do not recommend it as a single player experience. If you're buying it to play with a friend? Sure hell yeah, pick it up if it's on sale. The jank is perfect for a multiplayer playthrough.
So this game, what there is of it, isnt terrible, but is very very very bare. Looting is in no way satisfactory, but adequate in the amount of stuff you will find. Right now, its really just a big empty space, with the occasional groupings of big empty buildings, and is really boring. But in a good way, where you can tell with a few more years of updates they will have a lot more going for it. The biggest reason for my giving the game a thumbs down, though, is that once monsters start attacking your base, they never stop. Ever. You will have anything you are doing in your base interrupted every 3 or 4 seconds by a new wave of a few monsters. It does not end and there is no way to change any settings to it. That was more than just frustrating, it was down right awful. And when they finally whittled me down and killed me, which was inevitable seeing as they never stop coming, the game crashed when I respawned. The game has tons of potential, but needs way more time to cook. Especially at the price they are asking.
sEEMS TO BE A DECENT GAME, THAT IS TILL YOU GET THESE STUPID ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RAGE BAIT POP UPS THAT NEVER GO AWAY. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PUT A OPTION TO TURN OFF ALL HINTS, I AM SO TIRED OF HAVING THEM FILL UP A CHUNK OF THE SCREEN AND I CANT SEE WHAT I AM DOING BECAUSE OF IT. SO THAT MAKEWS THIS GAME A ABSOLUTE 0/10 IN MY OPINION. TRASH ASS GAME.
