if this game ever gets workshop support it will be a true masterpiece. the workers rights story kinda mid, but its something i guess.
Shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. Shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. Shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. Shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. Shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. Shut the ♥♥♥♥ up. You write like a 15 year old who's garbage was proofread by an intern that removed the swears. I'm not interested in your garbage ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dialogue, let me ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skip it.
I finished the campaign and I only find the voice of Shippy annoying. I like the story and the dynamics between the characters. When there is dialog in the yard I just hover, looking at the ship I'm working on, and listen to the story. It's nice. I'm not done with the game. There are other things to try like the 15 min shift etc. Love this game :)
This game is an incredible vibe. Once you get the full spacial movement & shipbreaking mechanics downpat, its a complete chill & vibe game. The soundtrack only multiplies this by 100x. Thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough of this game, including the story despite many steam reviews saying otherwise.
I really want to like this game, but especially one thing stands in the way - the NPC characters I am constantly FORCED to listen to with no option to skip or not interact with. They keep talking and I don't care. They talk sloooooowly about things I don't give a crap about. They force themselves into my ears and onto my screen and I have to just pause my game and sit there and do nothing, because I can't continue doing anything until they are done. All I want to do is be a cool space salvager and not care about boring office drama and people's interpersonal problem. Let me be without it. And some of the "story" takes ages. Just incessant yapping. Secondly, the endless tutorial is a problem. I am currently on my 5th salvage ship, and I am still being tutorialised at because of some new gadget, that I would rather play around with myself. I want to fail or succeed at it myself and only see a tutorial if I feel like I need it. Ever. If I finish the game it will stop me from ever playing a new save, because I just don't want to be forced through the endless tutorials and the NPC snorefest again. Update after 2 more hours: Still tutorials and even more loooooong unskippable exposition dumps that are more boring than watching paint dry - reminder, that you cannot do anything while the npcs talk. Best solution for this is turning off voices and just leaving the game running while you do something else.
Bro, who asked for all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dialogue????? LET ME SKIP THIS ♥♥♥♥ I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE CHARACTERS, I WANT TO BREAK SHIPS.
Its a great concept executed very well that is unfortunately completely ruined by a heavy handed reddit tier communist power fantasy storyline. If the game had not focused on preaching the virtues of commi bs through its brown female characters and instead had created actual endgame content i would recommend this to everyone i know. otherwise buy it on deep sale and prepare to cringe at the storyline if the gameplay really speaks to you
If you know me, you my reviews are less-than-comprehensive most of the time. So I likely won't do this title justice. This title, for me, is one of the best digital experiences I have witnessed in its.. genre?- which I would have to label a sci-fi salvage labor drama. Of course, there's the zero-g salvage aspect- which on its own is already an amazing concept. But they didn't stop there. They framed the simple game mechanics with a Western/Midwest trucker/blue collar vibe and a story that relates ever-present labor issues whatever era you find yourself living in. I mean, insuring your workforce through cloning but passing the costs onto the individual worker? Diabolical. And that's just one of the innumerable concepts that I have found myself loving throughout my gameplay. You can teardown glitchy ghost ships infested with digital gremlins, find easter eggs, and even decorate your equipment with- get this- stickers. There's posters you can hang, too. Might be cool to be able to hang those outside, where you'll spend most of your time. The quarters is basically and 3D menu- also an awesome concept. Kudos on that. I would be open to a sequel DLC more than a separate sequel. New ships, different orbits, customization that doesn't kill performance. I would even pay full price. This title's base game is.. dare I say perfect? It *works*. For me- the truest bliss in this title comes from a perfect salvage where I don't have to be cloned after slamming into a solid object beyond the structural capability of my bones and/or spacesuit. Or set on fire. Or Recycled. Or vaporized by a reactor. You get it? You're going to die. But for me- if I'm too frustrated by that point, I just alt-f4 and start from the last time I was in the quarters. Useful, if you're mid-salvage. This is a great game to have.
Amazing game but it seriously NEEDS to have a VR version! I would LOVE being in space, entering the ships and work closely like that. So many games that doesn't need VR or doesn't even make sense to have VR, have it. This would be perfect for it! I would even go so far as to buy it again if it came out on it's own.
