Hard Chip is a 3D simulation and puzzle game where you design a real processor from scratch. No abstraction layers. No drag-and-drop logic blocks. You start with the foundation, the transistor and you build up from there.
Wire complementary transistors into NAND and NOR gates. Combine gates into components. Combine components into circuits. By the end, you will have designed a working 8-bit ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit) by hand, from silicon principles.
Combine your gates into larger, more sophisticated parts. Each assembly is a puzzle, demanding not just intelligence but creativity, planning, and foresight.
Every wire has length. Every gate has delay. Your design is only as fast as its slowest path. Propagation delay is not a stat, it is a consequence you have to engineer around.
The terminals are dead. The machines are silent. Figure out why, one gate at a time.

太卡了。旋转缩放的灵敏度很差,卡来卡去,放置金属块和删除都都有一左右延迟。这种卡法放置金属块很慢,很容易放错,删除也一卡一卡的不好删除,这些基础的操作没优化好,体验感极差,像视频宣传里面的那种大规模电路设计估计卡的批爆,而且英法俄,德语都出,竟然还没有中文,不知道怎么想的,不如去玩图灵测试。

I went to school for Computer Science, so I have an interest in Electrical Engineering, but absolutely no knowledge of it and no ability to read a schematic. I've played a few other games that have you build increasingly complex logic circuits, starting with like a NOT gate and working your way up to arithmetic and RAM (Turing Complete, for example). This game has you start with Positive and Negative semiconductors. So you build the NOT gate yourself, and then you proceed to build all the other logic gates. If you're like me, this is kind of brain-melting and even paradigm-shifting. And that's without even mentioning the fact that you're working in three dimensions instead of 2, which makes the spaghetti that much spaghettier. If you have no EE background, definitely look at the schematics. Once you have blueprints for the basic logic gates, you can focus on figuring out how to wire them together. Then, once you're a little more comfortable, you can go back and redesign the basic pieces and work your way back up. Each puzzle has a lot of built in replayability, because you get rated on the size, complexity, number of transistors, and speed of the chip. So if you're into endlessly redesigning for better optimization, there's tons of opportunity for that. My most satisfying moment so far has been revisiting the XOR level, because I followed the schematic and just strung a bunch of NAND gates together. The thing is that doing this ends up making a huge, clunky chip that uses 16 transistors. When you get rated after completing a level, you're shown a histogram that places your solution among others, as well as your own previous attempts. So, I see that it's somehow possible to do a XOR gate with only 6 transistors, and I'm like, okay Google, how do I do that? So Google AI tells me a bunch of useless ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that I scroll past, and then underneath that, I see a few ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs about some god named MOSFET, and somehow that leads me to a picture of a diagram that I just.. kind of pretend I can read, and so I try to follow it, and bada boom! I've got a XOR circuit that uses 6 transistors! Never have I felt such a blend of genius and incompetence. But seriously, there's something really satisfying about going even deeper than logic gates. I wish I'd taken some EE classes in college.
Made me question if i finished the right masters degree. If you somewhat enjoy puzzles, logic or optimization, this game is for you.
